As someone who's asthmatic and had Pneumonia twice let me give you an idea of how hard it is to breathe. Imagine breathing through a straw for several days. That amount of air through both mouth and nose. Straight talk...it fucking sucks. If you think that that is easy you're a damn fool. No matter how big, buff, tuff or strong you are this shit will beat you down to the ground if it gets that bad. It doesn't matter how much you lift. Doesn't matter how fit you are. I recovered after 20 days here in Seattle. It was hell 3 trips to clinics and day and night in ER. I can say I noted the exact same crazy dreams or game me including a conversation with my dead Father one of the highest fever nights I had. Here's my experience, and I hope it also changes any perception that you just ride this out like a bad cold or the flu. This stuff is embarrassing, but if it helps someone, I can deal with being embarrassed. I had a fever of 102.5 - 99 for 3 weeks. Mine started with 4 days of bloody diarrhea, and I didn't know I had a fever till day 2, which is when I called out from work. The fever climbed, and I'm like Chris, my normal is 97.6. For about 10 days the fever stayed between 101.7 and 102.5. I can't describe the aches. I tried Ibuprofen, tylenol, I even had a couple of percocet left over and tried those just to ease the aches, nothing helped. Every joint, ever hair follicle just hurt to the max. They tell you to rate your pain, and mine was a hard 9 for a week. My chest gurgled, wheezed, it was so loud it kept me awake. I also slept most of the time. The aches started to subside, and I did find some nyquil in a drawer and that helped. Then the cough started. It was a dry cough, but i'd cough so hard I'd lose a little bit of bladder function. All of this is embarrassing. It was a cough that made me feel like John Hurt's character in Alien. My illness started Feb 25, I saw a doctor when I could finally stand and walk without shivering and falling over. Along with waking up aware I'd been just talking out loud, I couldn't keep my balance. That was March 11. I still had a fever, she had no test kits for fever or for CoVid19. She told me I could go back to work after I'd been without a fever 24 hours. by the time I got back to work, I'd missed a whole pay check. Because I had mine so early, the extra sick time they gave us is great, but it can't be used retro. Plus , no test kit, so they could only say 'symptoms consistent with". I live alone and have no one who would have come to help me. I have a number of painful genetic conditions that I live with, So I'm used to taking care of myself, and I figured the hospital would cost a fortune and just hydrate me and possibly isolate me. I was doing that on my own, and I couldn't afford a any trips to the ER. It might sound bizarre I didn't go to the doctor sooner, but I'm used to being alone and ill and getting myself through it. I was really lucky I had gotten a big enough pay check the previous 2 weeks, I'd splurged and filled my pantry a week before I got ill, even though I had to force myself to eat. I've had a lot of surgeries, and illness in my life and am immuno-compromised. I take 4 buses a day round trip, work and home, and I think I had to have picked it up there. The amount of pain I suffered was on a par with one of my hospital stays. It was horrible. I slept sitting up, because if I lay further back I couldn't breathe. I had pneumonia 25 years ago, I definitely didn't get to that point. Do everything you can, and avoid this virus.

My symptoms included: Started with two days of sneezing. Third day feeling strangled from the inside. Throat not sore but constricted with a TINY dry cough. One solid week of horrendous dry coughing, fever, heavy chest, complete exhaustion, lack of appetite, blood red super itchy and watery eyes, and forced to sit up to sleep or else I couldn’t breathe. Had to develop an alternate way of getting air in or I would cough until I dry heaved. I found that if I used my stomach muscles to pull in air it helped a lot. Three weeks (so far) of continued lesser cough and very dry, sore nostrils. I COULDN’T GET TESTED I COULDN’T GET TESTED I COULDN’T GET TESTED This thing ain’t no joke, and there’s VERY little help unless they hospitalize you, so take care of yourselves.

I had (I think) corona-light, thank God. Pain in my lungs, throat ache, chills, body aches especially behind my shoulders. I slept most of the time. My throat felt dry all the time. I drank liters and liters of ginger tea and ate soup. That really alleviated the symptoms, made me more comfortable. I am not sure if it oppressed the virus or if I just got lucky. Everyday I call my girlfriend who is in quarantaine. She says she has pain everywhere, cant sleep from it, wakes up by it. Her back, midsection, lungs. Everything hurts. Breathing is harder, constricted. Fever dreams, fever nightmares. One day fever is down, next day fever is up. Her vision is blurred, splitting headaches, nauseau and vomiting. Hey Barbara seriously your daughter will be ok. Does she have any health issues? Obesity, diabetes, heart issues? And even if she does she’s young and will fight it off. If not please do not worry. I live in NY just 30 minutes from NYC on Long Island. I have over 15 people I know that have it or have already had it. They range in age from 24 - 55 years old. Some had some issues but all are doing fine. Don’t let the media cause you to panic too much. Edit: one of my friends is 39yrs old 3 children and also a nurse. She’s been isolated in her home with the children at their father’s house. I just spoke with her yesterday and she is totally fine. She had a fever and slight cough which has gone away. It’s been 12 days since her last symptom.

I have had MS for 34 years, and upon casual observation, one would think I am healthy. I do have observable symptoms, yet I have just as many invisible symptoms that affect the way I live. The quarantine has not bothered me much because I don’t get out much. I can empathize with those who live normal, healthy lives and feel frustrated and impatient with the quarantine. Some may say life challenges, misfortunes, illness affects us only to the degree we allow. I have willed myself to be independent. Really don’t have a choice. That is an attack to the virus. By testing we can hurt the virus by finding out who has it. Some people who get it NEVER show symptoms but can still spread it. We need to find out who these super spreaders are and keep them away from other people. Testing and contact tracing to find out everyone a person may have come across? That is how you beat this virus. Don't believe me? Look at South Korea. Look at any country that did massive testing before this shit started. Was it expensive? Yeah I'm sure it was expensive to test a majority of their population. Was it worth it? They were able to stop this shit before anyone else through testing.
