Punch Brothers were complete once they brought Paul in. They are all virtuosos of their instruments.

Real pros, guy didn't even tell him what he was going to play but you can see he listened to the beat and was on it. Just beautiful, Rock on!!!

Their voices blend really well together! Also, that's probably the first time I've ever clearly heard Paul sing. He's not bad! Both of them are amazing players, too!
@pjw20006 жыл бұрын
He does a fair number of harmonies in Punch Brothers, though he's definitely fourth in line (with Noam being fifth, bringing in the low end when they need it). This Girl, Magnet, Familiarity, It's All Part of the Plan, New York City, and their cover of Surf's Up are just a few songs off the top of my head where Paul sings back-up.

pjw2000 I never realized he sung until I saw them in concert a few weeks ago. Now I need to listen to those songs closely to find his voice!

Bass player doesn’t know what’s coming but lays right in the pocket and carries the day. Cheers to the guitar player for giving the Bass player his 15 seconds of solo & fame!

I learned about Chris' Punch Brothers connection backwards -- I first became aware of him when I saw him in a duo concert with Julian Lage; I've seen them twice now. Chris is an amazing player and singer. This type of music isn't normally my thing, but great playing and sincerity can win you over.

He also feels evidently awkward with the short scale, low action, obtrusive frets and squeaky roundwound string of that bass guitar.
@millsmillsmills2036 жыл бұрын
For sure bass guitar isn't his forte, but he did go to Curtis so he can for sure hold his own. Probably one of the few guys who's played an Edgar Meyer concerto and held his own with it.
