Elton John wore that same suit to his songwriting partner, Bernie Taupin's wedding to his wife Maxine. He was Bernie's best man and the photos are online in black and white on google images and the photos have been floating around the internet for years. Well it's good that they now have the suit on display in a museum. Seems fitting!!

It would be nice to have Michael Clarke's for sure, but since he wasn't a member when the first album was recorded (they had other drummers for that one), he got an off-the-rack suit later. Still, he was an important member of this legendary band.

@@margaretross9150 sorry, but that’s not my understanding. He was in the band when they had the suits made, and his Nudie suit was red with a submarine on the back. Then he took off to Hawaii and they used session drummers for the first record. And when he came back and played live shows he wore the original red suit. That’s the story I heard anyway.

It's what I recall from reading five Gram bios and can't tell you which one, but Hot Burritos by Einarson about pages 140-150 seems to confirm the way Mike got into the band and the suit. Wish I could have seen them all suited up.
