Chris was a badass in a go kart and fellow kentuckian. Pretty cool to see old kart racers make it to nascar and be successful

I am so happy he mentioned the HP to grip ratio. That is the main issue with the short track racing, if they won't add HP they need to reduce grip, simple. Those two metrics always need to be aligned in all racing. Well said!

Chris hello from here in Louisville! Was wonderful when you brought up our awesome speedway! I'm 47 and have great memories of our track. So sad that it was closed to bring about KY Speedway, because we know how that worked out. Hope you get the championship this year!!!

Chris is spot on with the tire solution for the Next Gen car. With the increase in width, these cars almost gained a fifth tire's worth of grip compared to the Gen6 car, with a decrease in spring rate with the reduction of the sidewall. As there is natural attrition in wheels with damage and fatigue, this would also have a minimal cost impact on the teams. I think Nascar could solve so many of these competition problems by switching to a narrower tire on a 17in rim.

There's no reason why they can also have staggered taller tires allowing the chassis height to be taller on short tracks yes with also a 17 inch wheel might allow some y'all by increasing the sidewall by 20%?

Gabehart is impressive. Hamlin has one heck of a crew chief there who likely extended his career. Those two probably have a lot more wins in them.

They talk about Kevin Harvick being 'clutch' and now he is 'gearbox', in sequential shifting through those questions. When it is like the edit without the editor. Now is that a good thing. Perhaps it is. The Harvick Dynamic.

G00d Year & NASCAR will eventually develop an "All-Weather Narrow Gr00ved Tire" 4 All occasions. 2 be mandatory on all tracks larger in circumference to acc0mm0date the opti0nal 😊"G00d - Year Inner Liner "again? Thus adding M0re side wall which will also all0w 2 increase minimal ride height? Which will aid in the "Sh0rt Track Package" by getting the car off the gr0und and giving the tires" Less Grip & M0re Yaw"

One element of the Cup Series tire is the low profile parameter in relation to the diameter of the wheel. Which is more pure mathematics than anything else. When the basics of the 'wet weather' tire tread pattern is much taken from the tread design of the Good Year street tire. Needless to say, the Cup Series tire is no longer the 80% of the width profile of the 15 inch tire from the past. This 18 inch version is based much on a concept of the low profile in tire height, that matches the concept of the street tire. Also the 15 inch tire with a 80% profile is a similar diameter to the 18 inch wheel in total circumference (lets say a 60 to 40 % profile) A inner liner just won't fit, it is that simple. - "The 18 inch is the rim diameter of the tire. The exact specifications of the tire are 365/35 R18s. The width of the tire is now 12 inches." - a 35% profile when compared with the former 80% of the tire width is a big step. The inner liner not inflated would not fit at all, inside the lower profile tire
