Great playing but why play lead with bass guitar?

Totally valid question. Mostly curiosity, like “I wonder if I could do that on bass.” I teach a lot of guitar but am a bassist at heart so I for years I would learn a cool thing on guitar and pick up a bass and see if it worked. Then I just kept going with that. I love hearing piano players do instrumental versions of songs and thought I wonder if you could do that on bass! Then I saw the success of Davie504 and some other channels with thousands of followers so figured there’s a niche. I’ve played some cafes, events, dinner parties and even yoga classes with with just my bass. When live shows stopped for a bit in 2020 I doubled down on “what can I do by myself.”
