True, NXT was always on Wednesday nights on WWE network. When McMahon heard about AEW coming to tv and what night they would be on, he pressed Triple H to ask USA for a trial run on Wednesday nights ahead of Dynamite to build buzz and ultimately take the majority of the audience. The first two episodes of NXT were only an hour long and did over 1million both episodes but when Dynamite aired, it was two hours and NXT became two hours to compete. WWE started this war because Vince McMahon can't stand competition. All AEW keeps doing wrong is acknowledging them.

Really great piece! At the risk of sounding like a Jericho mark yet again, it's great that AEW allows him the input into matches and furthering talent that they do. 30 years in the business have no doubt given him insight into angles other companies never considered. I think the company utilizing knowledge that guys can only pick up over time is a huge asset to them. Jericho,J.R.,Dustin Rhoads, not to mention so many of the legends acting in managerial positions to the younger talent can only serve to strengthen the company as a whole.

I agree with Jericho kinda. NXT in there defence was on Wednesday’s on the WWE Network years before AEW was a thing and even before BTE started as a You Tube channel. That being said I have enjoyed NXT being on Tuesday’s. I think the shows are good with some excellent stuff on their and some promising stars and stories but I feel like I always compare it to AEW which yes is my fault but they are competing against each other so it’s hard not to. I would love for NXT to move to Tuesday’s. It seems like it works so why not give it ago. I also enjoyed AEW on Thursday so if they wanted to move I wouldn’t mind that but I think it would be better if NXT moved since whilst it is admitting the defeat in this “war” it is also kind of a victory for them as a brand as they made the best decision out of the two shows.

Its not like WWE just got to dictate to USA what night NXT would go on either... WWE definitely pushed the idea but the network would have the final say on what nights they air the product. also..win win for WWE..carrying and producing 3 network weekly episodic shows is a huge cash windfall. I personally hope one of the brands change nights but also a part of me thinks that the reason we get so many top quality matches is that both brands are wary of each other so they put their best stuff on. If there is no war then no incentive to keep counterprogramming. Remember when we got Fyter Fest and American Bash on the same night? it was pretty ridiculous and an obvious counter move booking BUT.. we as fans got some truly epic matches... felt like christmas come early having to figure which channels to switch to to get the best matches live. Been a wrestling fan for decades and it honestly took me back to WWE v WCW Monday nights. Never thought that would happen again in my lifetime.

yeah but it's always pre-taped and put up on the network. people could watch it anytime they wanted. now they're forcing people to choose by moving them to usa in the exact same timeslot and adding another hour
