I guess from a kayfabe perspective that makes sense but as a fan it makes the second fall a lot less exciting because they're fighting over a lesser belt, its how ya leave em folks. The finish is one of the most important parts of a match or show

I think Chris is one of the goats, I've heard him tell this story before and I'm damn near 100% sure he was never supposed to be in the main event of wm2000. A few months earlier Jericho was feuding with Chyna and Bob Holly. Imo the original plan was for hhh vs Rock (which it should have been) but Foley was involved in a feud with hhh and it was a way to get him in the main event whilst big show was feuding with rock. The posters with Jericho on them meant nothing, Sable was on the poster for wm 15 just a year earlier FFS.

Foley was retired after losing to HHH in No Way Out. So it doesn't make sense anymore. But it is what it is. Looking back, it all fun filled with nostalgia. Such a great era for wrestling fans.

@@TingTong2568 I watched an interview hhh did with logan Paul, he said the original plan was for rock vs hhh at wm but austin wasn't ready, so that's why they pushed it back a month later to backlash, he also said both he and rock wanted the wm match to be an iron man match

That entire wrestlemania was DEAD. They were barely popping. That crowd was so weak and I remember watching at home thinking, "What the f is wrong with the people at the event"?

@@GorditoCrunch343 actually I’ve been thinking for years that if Vince pulled the trigger on Rock vs Triple H at WM2000, Vince would have probably booked it the same way as Backlash 2000 beat-by-beat. Rock winning the title plus Austin drinking a beer would had been a perfect way to end a Wrestlemania.
