His tour focuses on reducing their carbon footprint too. I watched a mini documentary with Zane Lowe, and they mentioned they reduced their carbon footprint by 56%. For example, The fabric on their mobile media tents on stage has solar panels, to gather energy. Was impressed myself. Then I heard about his pink vinyl being recycled plastic, and i was like you, completely impressed. What. A. Great. Gentle-man.

Two years ago, I went to the viewing of Music of the Spheres live broadcast from Buenos Aires in cinema. It was probably my first time watching Coldplay's concert from start to end. I cried several times, especially during the performance with Iranian singer and some other parts. But even before the whole concert started, I already shed a tear. It was when they played the video about how they put effort on making the tour as environmentally friendly as possible. Of course it's not perfect, but a music act as huge as Coldplay, proving that there are indeed ways to go on a long tour and compensate for the carbon footprint of it, it's huge for me. Sometimes musicians will talk or sing about their concern on climate change, but very few will put the activism in their act. Coldplay is one of those very few and they still keep inspiring us every day. I hope many more music acts, big or small, would follow their step in changing the music industry towards the better.

In the UK and Ireland, it took us all awhile to warm to Coldplay but now, they are in everyones top 5 with u2 oasis the beatles the stones.

@Viper-g6g oasis number 1 issue with bringing their massive success to America was the fact they cancelled a number of times during tours in the height of their fame from fighting. On one tour Noel left on another Liam Gallagher got off the plane at the airport to go house hunting with his new wife patsy kensit at the time lol it's on KZbin, it's funny like. Coldplay in England played the long game and their music at first it seemed a bit bland or abit too studenty. Yellow had a great chorus but the band were just another new band to most of us. Back then the strokes the hives the libertines and other new bands seemed more exciting . Oasis mania had died by 2000 but they still sold out the biggest gigs and tours. I think Coldplays strength was going on new directions and working with different artists and producers, they are really versatile. To my mates at uni coldplay were too safe, silly now looking back but that's how we saw them. Also Coldplay big up loads of artists and say nice things. They are good top guys. Chris Martin married a famous American actress and that lifted their profile better than any album by that time. Gweneth Paltrow I think is the name

They’re coming to India early next year. All tickets were sold in black market at 10-15-20 times rates. The only song I know of them is “ hymn for the weekend”, which I love it.

Ironically, coldplay handing out probably millions of plastic glow bracelets at their concerts would have contributed to a lot of waste (unless it was recycled properly). But it WAS awesome.

The bracelets are meant to be returned back after the concert and reused for others. if i remember right they said in some documentary that about 85% of them are returned.
