The fact that he said he spent hours jumping on koopas in the original Mario Bros game is actually hilarious. Anyone who played the original Mario Bros even ONCE learns the hard way that you absolutely, positively, do *NOT* under any circumstances jump on the koopa troopas, it's an instant death. I remember when I first played it, dying after jumping on a koopa and never forgetting that lesson. I respect Anya Taylor Joy for being honest that she didn't play a lot of Mario growing up and having fun playing the games as an adult as research.

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this. I didn't get the chance to watch the Nintendo Direct on Friday and was only able to watch the trailer today. I thought his voice was fine in the trailer and while I agree that the voice of Mario should 100% be Charles Martinet I think the movie will do just fine and it still looks incredible. I don't know how they didn't refilm his interview because he couldn't seem less interested if he tried. Its like people are already getting upset about him playing the role he could at least seem enthusiastic about it. Unless he just figures people are going to hate on him no-matter what and he's just like screw it. Still really cringe though.

How Funny ! Chris Pratt was 4 years old when the original Mario Bros Arcade cabinet came out, and in that game you could not stomp....Koopas. you had to jump underneath them, flip them over and kick them in the water. Then Super Mario Bros Cabinet came out in early 1986, on a Nintendo VS. System (after the original game came out on NES in 1985) so basically, if that is the version Chris is talking about, he was 7 years old at the time. Spending contless hours in an arcade stomping...koopas when you we're 7 years old in the eighties, is a little hard to believe. In short, Chris is f____ng with you, he has no clue what this movie or character is about.

Honestly the animation for the movie looks the most visually stunning for an mainstream animated movie (alongside Spider Man Into The Spider Verse) I’ve seen in my life and also the fact Jack Black is definitely an spot on choice for voicing Bowser. He might have ACTUALLY referred to what we know as "VS Super Mario Bros" Which is the arcade version of the original Super Mario Bros. But that's it. Lmao Also, I saw someone point this out but after Toad's initial freak out and relief, the scene CUTS to Toad saying "Come On, Mario!". Like there was probably a whole conversation between the two that we didn't get to see or HEAR. 🧐 This is clearly the first time meeting each other. There's not the unanimous outrage ugly Sonic encountered. It just sucks that his unenthused ass got the part instead of ANY giddy little fanboy who would have given it his all. Even so, one thing very few are considering, is that the video is heavily edited, and that it's very likely that "Mushroom Kingdom, here we come." is out of context and may not belong to that scene at all. Aside from that gripe, I LOVED it! There's a million little things I wonder about, like in the actual movie will the airship music be played in place of the trailer music? Will a part of the adventure take place under water? And how will Donkey Kongs arc fit in the Mushroom Kingdom? Mario Kart?
