Don Williams wrote and recorded this song, but if I'm not mistaken the late, great Waylon Jennings had an even bigger hit with it when he covered it back in the late 70's.

Everything you said about Morgane is spot on, and the people get it. She was/is the catalyst behind her husbands success. The two together work PERFECTLY in harmony and in life. Just saw CS in Virginia Beach with his beautiful soul mate by his side singing background, but stage front (Chris would not have it any other way). When Chris introduced the band members, Morgane got the loudest ovation.....BY FAR! The people get it.....they know how strong this woman is and what she has worked to promote for the people. Morgan was seeking her own career in Nashville when they met. I heard them in an intervue and she said laughing that she stalked him. Now 5 kids later and they have the dream life. A full family and a wife/the best harmony/duet partner on earth. Who says there ain't a God. Hallelujah!

Asia you are so precious. This is an older song written for Waylon Jennings and he and his wife did a few duets too. Jessie Colter was the wind beneath Waylon in a similar way. I lv that he uses an old guitar and plays so good .. he was writing hit songs for 15 years .. she finally told him he had to sing his own songs ..he said if she would be on stage and sing w him he would do it .. and he did and got huge quickly !! He was one of the only singers to get New artist album of the year and Male Vocalist all in the same CMA award show .. that was the night he sang w Justin and that was also his first live performance on the CMAs .. he wept when he won Male Artist and spoke about his dad .. y’all just need to look up his speech from that night .. it was amazing !! And Miranda Lambert wore a Chris Stapleton T shirt that night !! She said “F” this dress I’m supporting this man cause it’s his time to shine !! I lv that !!
