You get it man! So many people want to just listen to music hoping it “sounds” like they want it to. They don’t “Listen” to the music and usually don’t appreciate real songs from the soul. This guy can fill everyone’s needs. He’s a once in a generation talent.

This song is the perfect testament to his talent. It’s not easy to create something so beautiful in its simplicity. No overproduction, no bells & whistles....just well written music & lyrics tied together perfectly with an amazing performance. It’s a special thing and an under appreciated art to be able to pull something like this off and make it so memorable. To be honest, It makes me a little upset at God for putting so much talent in one person. Keep the reactions coming.....you’re good people. Much love and respect.

Absolutely love your sweatshirt! I am a mature white woman who emphasizes and stands up for injustices in our world. My two very best friends are African American and their my family. So in my solidarity I protest and I wear daily a Black Lives Matter face mask. Today while exiting a store and holding open the door for a 60 year old white man, he looked at me and said all lives matter you know. Instead of causing an altercation I simply stated yes all lives do matter. It’s such a shameful, scary world we’re living in right now and it astound me that people feel that they can say anything they want. Chris Stapleton’s music is my escape. I could literally listen to him for the rest of my life! Love and happiness to you and all your viewers! ❤️

I’m ashamed to admit I have not heard Chris sing this before. As soon as it began I thought of my dad who I know was not a vocal praying man, it was always mom. My mommy prayed for everything and I find that I do as well. Mom and dad are together again in heaven and I look forward to the day that the Lord bring us all home as one whole family as it was always meant to be. Please don’t hold back a moment to pay someone a compliment, but their coffee etc. I was blessed the other day to pay for a bag of candy for a wonderful woman who told me she practice’s paying it forward but no one ever did for her. It was her birthday too. She said “I can’t wait to get home and tell my mama”. Her joy melted my heart.

Absolutely he does! I love him so much! He recognizes talent no matter the genre, and is SUPER respectful and REAL. I love that. This fan isn’t going ANYWHERE! I listened to country in the 90’s bc my bf did. I love Reba, Martina, and all the greats, but I stopped listening completely when we broke up. Chris Stapleton is an anomaly. He “brought me back from bein’ too far gone!” LOL I listen to Chris and some 90’s country here and there, but if it weren’t for Chris and Morgan, I still wouldn’t listen to country-except Carrie Underwood because.......Oh. My. Gosh. That voice!!!! She’s my female equivalent to CS. All love to everyone! Have a blessed year, and stay safe! May God bless you all!

The other song you mentioned is “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton, another of my all time favorites. He’s in the rock n roll hall of fame three times, as a solo artist, as a member of Derek and the Dominoes and as a member of Cream. Another country song I would recommend is “Believe” by Brooks and Dunn. It’ll get ya right in the feels!

I'm glad that Mickey Raphael on harmonica seems to have added another singer-songwriter to join, and I don't think he's left Willie Nelson entirely. There's another video which describes a similar process for WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO. His ability to tell a good story - fiction or one from personal experience - means he's likely to be around for a good long time, giving us enjoyment.

First, don't stop listening to rap, just be more selective about what you consider good rap. Same with country music, not much of it that I like but what I like, it has a message and is delivered by great voices. Second, I have heard a lot of Chris, as I truly enjoy his talent, as a hard rock fan, mostly because most of his stuff is more like the blues, the basis fro hard rock. I had not heard this before and I must admit, it shook me a bit, as someone who just buried my father a few months back.

If you like his more country sound the steeldrivers is the way to go. It's labeled as bluegrass but that bc they have a banjo and a steel guitar. I saw someone earlier in the comments suggested "blue side of the mountain" but as a way to test if you'll like the style I'd suggest "if it hadn't been for love" he doesn't flex his vocal muscles too much on the song but it tells an interesting story

I love all music but have a soft spot for raw music that has not been over 'processed'. Chris has narrowed my choices even more. Makes me realize how shallow and greedy most music and musicians have become. I pick more meaningful choices and artists who truly feel their craft now. Life's to short to waste listening to manufactured talents and filling the pockets of the big promoters of it. Music should leave you thinking or feeling you've experienced something, not just noise to blot out your life.
