So glad you appreciated Chris. He is amazing. The harmonies are with his wife. She stands a few feet away and plays the tamborine and watches him and is they are perfect together. He has a long beard, long hair, she has long blonde hair and wears flowy dresses alot. I love the fact that they are on the road together. Even pregnant, there she is just loving on him with the way she looks at him. He seems shy really, and doesn't look around much, but always turns and glances at her from time to time. I'm sure he gets so involved with the music he's making that she is still there....:-)

Amen. It’s so much in the voicing, instrumentation and arrangement. Put an R&B treatment on Hank Williams and it’s pretty good R&B. But this, to be fair, is way more classic R&B than country. This owes everything to Otis Redding and Wilson Picket and very little to Lefty Frizell or Merle Haggard. I hear lots Memphis and Muscle Shoals and not much Nashville or Bakersfield. A good song and a GREAT performance and arrangement.

I've been country since the 60s, but when Chris won the CMA Artist of the Year, I was in shock. I had never heard of him before. Granted, I had been out of the country, but still no excuse. As soon as I heard him perform, I became one of his biggest fans. I am very grateful that more of "us" are singing country, living country, and supporting country music. I no longer have to switch the radio station when visiting my hometown of Baltimore. I never thought I'd see that day. We live in Ghana now, and it never ceases to amaze me when I walk into the malls to hear country music playing. When I arrived a few years ago, it was all negative rap music.

You have it backwards. Country comes from the folk songs and campfire songs cowboys used to sing, their harsh life and loves lost because their travels. They were soft sung because they didn't have a large band to play with, from there Blues takes inspiration. So Blues evolved from Country which evolved from folk singing.

I absolutely LOVE it when an artist changes your perspective! When they say “Let me show you something” and lay out a song that tells you something you never knew, never thought of, and it blows your mind... THAT is a good artist! It doesn’t matter the genre. I generally can’t stand rap, but Tupac did that to me. I was like... whoa!

Sorry to break it to you, but Keith Urban is not, never was, and never will be country. Unless, of course, Trashville takes over the recording industry and everyone sounds like John Denver or Oblivious Neutron-Bomb.

Can't believe it took This long. One of the most amazing voices on Earth. Love to hear him sing with Lady Gaga or someone like that. Hell, he can hang with Christina Aguilera. You should check out his performance with Justin Timberlake. It's pretty obvious he can smoke Justin, but they both do a great job singing in each others domains. Awesome performance. Just don't think that all country is like this. This man is rare and represents an older generation of country. I'm so glad someone is bringing the roots back around. Absolutely not a fan of pop country. But to each their own. Good Discovery for you. If you watch a live performance, you will see him performing with a woman. That's his wife , how awesome is that. Maybe the song is about her

Just found you in June of 2021. Loved your reaction. One of the best I've heard and seen. I like your comments about being open to different genres of music. More than anything, I am so happy that you appreciated Chris Stapleton's cover of Tennessee Whiskey. And, his wife, Morgane sang with him on this song. Keep following Chris Stapleton because people all over the world are loving his music. He has such a wonderful voice. He is a true artist. Again, great reaction. You get a like, subscribe and comment (in 2021 !!!). Looking forward to your reactions. Peace, love and kindness to everyone out there, as we strive to get back to "normal" from the pandemic, in the USA, and all over the world.

THIS is REAL country music sweet heart. Welcome to reality! REAL country music has a story and a meaning. Its heartfelt, true and as real as it gets. That twangy stuff you stereotypically thought was country is bluegrass and yet, some of it is very "hillbilly" but if listened to, it very much the same as country.
