CHRIS STUCKMANN - 'Shelby Oaks' Debut: FANTASIA 2024, Montreal

It was great meeting Chris at Fantasia (Stuckmannized!) , and being amongst the first audience to see Shelby Oaks. Hundreds of people stood in line for over an hour and filled the theater to capacity. The movie was very well received, as evidenced by the enthusiastic audience reaction. I almost jumped out of my seat a couple of times during the movie, even though I knew a jump-scare was imminent. There were some laughs too. Nice when Chris brought the cast and crew onstage for a Q&A at the end. Thoroughly enjoyable evening! If you have any comments or questions, please post them below. All will be acknowledged:)

This is great proof on how online originated hate almost never translates to real live. I've been on this platform since 2007, watching this is really incredible and inspiring. I wonder if Chris' success will stop the haters, but kind of doubt it, as haters will always be haters. When they can't achieve anything themselves, they take their failures out on others. It was great to see all the love and support hundreds of his fans showed him before and after the film.

People dizzing Chris, just because he dared to live out his dream (and they don’t) is extremely pathetic. When people go after their dreams, those that doesn’t dare to do the same will wanna tear you down. The closer one gets to his or her dream, the MORE they’ll wanna hate you for it, cause they envy the courage you have 🤷‍♂️ Chris has so earned this 🙏 I’m watching his film as soon as it’s possible. Even IF it sucks, he STILL won! 🥳.. “What do you mean by that?”… Figure that one out for your self, if what I wrote above wasn’t answer enough 👍

It doesn’t matter if his movie turns out “meh”, or even bad. What matters is, that he actually had the balls to go_for_it! That’s the difference between the likes of Chris and those that are just dizzing him 🤗 Deep down they envy the courage, but will NEVER admit it.

Really, really happy for him. It seems the movie was much liked by most people, even if the critics so far have been divided, but, hey, even 2001 was slammed by critics initially, so.. Hope this becomes a hit when it opens next year (but why wait so long? I wanna see this sucker now!!!)

I'm not a big horror flick fan, but I really enjoyed the movie and was surprised at how well it was shot and how great all the actors were. It's pretty clear of all the work that was put into the making. I think Chris, cast and crew deserve all the praise they got at the screening.

A lot of suspense, in my view. Fell for a couple of jump scares. Horror is not my movie genre of choice, nevertheless, my friend and I enjoyed the movie and even want to see it again upon release:)
