As a conservative traditionalist, people don’t understand the dynamics of a gay person or what it means to be gay. It’s not something that was “forced..” lol. It’s obvious that these triplets grew up the same way, were offended the same things, and just overall lived very similar lives. Naturally, one turned out to be gay. It’s okay.. glad they have each other also because many can’t say the same

Frfr. When you’re own family turns on you for something like this … were they ever really your family? It’s sad but I’ve seen it happen. It’s messed up for so called “families” to turn on their own flesh & blood because of who they like.

I honestly would probably forget I'm gay if it weren't for other people finding their own special ways to remind me on a regular basis. It's such a dehumanizing experience to feel like people are constantly trying to "put you in your place" or remind you you're different and they know it. Especially when those of us that are gay don't care and are also ok with it!
@mustlovebooknerd

I have the opposite experience as a gay man. I surrounded myself with queer friends and my sister and my dad are both queer as well, and even my "straight" best friend recently realized he was ace. So I sometimes forget that people can be straight. 😂

If we quit making sexuality such a big deal, maybe it will stop being it. Same with race. Let it go and let's just exist as we are
@taylorh4480
@taylorh4480 10 ай бұрын
Every week somebody says that on the Internet and every week somebody says what I'm getting ready to say… It is a big deal. Because so many people are discriminated against because this world is filled with far too many miserable racist homophobic assholes and THOSE miserable people are the ones that make everything bad. They make everything a big deal. And so much of it is based in childhood indoctrination into any given religion. If we get rid of religion and stop teaching kids to hate others then we would see a world where it wasn't a big deal. But we will never never never see that world sadly. Because hatred raises hatred and ignorance raises ignorance

I completely get what Chris is saying here. For a lot of people growing up gay, it's a stressful and exhausting experience, constantly navigating a minefield where we second guess everything we do in case it exposes us. We watch what we say, how we say it, who we say it for, how we stand, how we laugh, how we hold our bodies, what we express an interest in - literally everything. We aren't ourselves and spend our youths playing a muted version of ourselves, lying constantly and living in fear of giving the game away. For Nick, I can imagine this was even harder because he would be comparing himself to Matt and Chris in an effort to not stand out. Coming out is a massive thing and can, in most cases, remove or at least lessen the need to be constantly mindful of yourself. However, living like that for years, especially your formative years, has an impact and a lot of people never completely get over it. I personally don't think I have and I think it impacts how I live my life today. Chris and Matt both come across as incredibly supportive and the love the three of them have for each other is obvious. Nice to see.

He was giving an example of a field where the guy wasn't being himself and only doing it because the other boys did. And, shit, it was the same for me, a bi guy who "had" to do sports he hated in high-school. Lots of people do go through this but "let's not PROMOTE that gay boys may not like doing the same sports as straight boys do, God forbid"

Totally get what Chris is saying. I've had the same best friend since I was like 6 and I knew he was gay probably before we were even in Middle School. Obviously I didn't like 100% KNOW, but I kind of knew, if that makes sense? So by the time he came out when we were like 14/15. I was like Awesome! Finally! *I think I kind of understand what Chris was implying. I mean, I had a guy best friend and we were close since we were 13. And since we were always together, people around us would tease us that we had something romantic going on or we would end up married to each other when the time came. But there was always something at the back of my head like, **_”No, that would never ever happen.”_** But then I would shake that thinking because I don’t want to judge him. I think we were already 26 when he confessed. I was being goofy and was teasing him to one of my girl friends. And he said to me, **_”I’m not into girls. I like your friend’s beauty, but that is because of the many make-up or hairstyles I’d like to do to her.”_** And the sigh of relief was for the both of us because he had no longer something to **_hide_** and I also no longer needed to decipher.* 😮‍💨 *I lost him to stomach cancer in 2019. I miss the guy. Terribly.*

Hate the stereotype that gay people don't like sports (not saying that in this video they said that he didn't do sports because he was gay) But I feel like it's almost an unspoken truth that gay people can't do sports or be good at them I'm gay and I have done sports all my life and I love going to the gym Basically what I'm trying to say is you can do whatever you want you don't have to not do something just because there aren't a lot of people like you doing it

In this interview? No. And quite possibly not otherwise. I got through about two minutes of it and he DID get through one 15 second stretch without saying it. But then about a minute in, he bombed us with half a dozen of them in less than 15 seconds. It's a really distracting mental crutch, which he (and a lot of other young people) is probably completely unaware of.

@@June_slayy Logic isn't easy. He actually said, he knew Nick was gay BECAUSE of this and that. So it is not just talking about childhood, but making a logic statement, based on a stereotype. You can say that somebody is gay because of falling in love with boys/men or because of sexual attraction or something like that, but not because of not liking this or that. You can't even conclude somebody being gay, because he doesn't like girls or women or isn't attracted to, because even then there would be more logical reasons than just being gay because of that.

@@pakabe8774 yes i understand, but he cant explain everything right here. there triplets, they spend time together and know eachother, he knew. he just listed 1 of his reasons. also stereotypes can be true to some people, there just stereotypes because there not true to all, but everyone thinks they are.
