Thanks Josh. Yeah I think the added green layer gives it that more movie accurate apperance. I appreciate your comment as always sir. Hope all is well.

So awesome. I've seen a lot of other robocop costumes on the tube but this is the only one that is the most likeness & true to the robocop costume. You look like the actual robocop from the film it's insane 👌💯

I used actually automotive paint silver (the one that comes in a can and use a professional sprayer with a comressor). I used the Dupli-Color silver for covering mistakes and metallic blue (Avignon?) for the toned areas (light spray). I also used some airbrush metallic blue and purple.

Super dope! I still have all the armor pieces printed and sitting in a box hesitant to dive in. This video has motivated me! Molding the torso is what caused me to pause on the whole suit. That felt like the most expensive thing to practice until I get it.

Molding the torso isn't too bad just takes a lot of time more so then anything. I'm excited to see you start working on it. I hope to see some video updates once you start to tackle it. Thanks for commenting sir!

Looks amazing. I wonder how it would look with some Chameleon Flip Paint Pigment powder - Ultra Violet-Neon Blue - Neptune added to the clear coat over the metallic silver base?
@ChrisBoshProps2 жыл бұрын
Not really sure. Might be a similar effect but the blue and purple highlights wouldn't be as apparent. I spoke to someone who worked on the Robocop 1 suit and they said they used automotive paint and did all the highlights layer by layer. Thanks for commenting.

Pretty trippy how SF might have corporate robot cops now like OCP in the movie. Verhoeven predicted the future. Although the ED 209 seems to be closer to what they will be rather than robocop.

Hi I love your work, I wanted to ask you how did you adjust the size of your head in robocop, I have a head diameter of 62 cm, is it necessary to modify the file for my head. Thank you and good job.
@ChrisBoshProps2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Ray. Yes sir the easiest way if the standard size is too small is just upscale the model. For instance I use Simplify3D for my slicer when importing the files into the software for printing. Before slicing you can upscale the default size of 100% to 110% which will enlarge the helmet and chinguard pieces. Since filament is cheap I'll print in increments until it fits. You can upscale as large as your need until it works. Just make sure each piece is upscaled to whatever percent you settle on so everything fits right.
@RAY-NOGUES2 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisBoshProps thank you for your quick response.i have a doubt as there are several pieces in the head, i don't know how to give it enough width to fit my head. i imagine that for the body it won't be necessary to enlarge it. i am 1.84 meters tall.

Very nice Chris! Thanks to your last video about getting started with 3D printers I got inspired and bought a Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro. I'm not doing the suit but instead, i bought a pack of .stl files for a pretty movie accurate ED-209 model. Ive always wanted to have him on my desk. Im still printing parts and sanding which seems to be the hardest part. Do you put the first layer of primer filler on first before sanding? Getting rid of PLA lines seems to take forever. Tried to print some parts with PETG which is much easier to sand but then read that color doesnt like to stick to its surface so i switched back to PLA. He is so small with lots of details so its even more difficult to sand every surface. Just wanted to share and thanks for uploading these videos!
@ChrisBoshProps2 жыл бұрын
That's awesome Sean I'm happy to hear your getting after it! An Ed209 is going to be fire. As for sanding PLA I don't really sand my pieces before filler primer. Once the piece comes off the bed I spray a heavy coat of filler primer then start the sanding process and using spot putty. I know a lot of people like to sand the PLA raw before filler primer and spot putty, I don't though. I hope that helps.

This is great, Chris! You inspired me to make my own RoboCop suit, and I'm in the process of printing the same model as yours (Darth Asen's), and I wanted to ask you: How did you manage to get the wording in the sides (OCP POLICE 001) so crisp? I printed the helmet and the letters are not that crisp out of the printer and even less after some light sanding. They have mostly faded away. Any recommendations? Thanks for sharing.
@ChrisBoshProps2 жыл бұрын
Hey Matto your comment pretty much sums up why I do KZbin to inspire others to achieve their dreams atleast when it comes to movie props, so I'm more then thrilled to hear that your going after it. As for the letters on the helmet they print pretty crisp on my printer. I'm using a CR10 with standard .4mm nozzle. I use Simplify3d as my slicer and print at .2mm layer height. My print speed is around 3000mm/min you'll have to convert that to seconds. That setup makes the letters come out crispy enough. I'll use some sharp pointed micro files to clean them up a tad more during post processing. Hope that helps.
@mattogodoy2 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisBoshProps Thanks for your reply! I'll try filing it a bit, but my print definitely does not have the same level of "crispiness" as yours. We'll see how it turns out!
