Very helpful video. Painter’s tape holding the nut worked. I had to buy a wire wreath frame from Michael’s and pull wire from that. No one makes wire coat hangers anymore.

How did you get the wire out, the one used to fish the special nut?

i only taped it in a u shape so it could easily be pulled out 5:04

I want to install same mirror on my 64 drivers side (gave up on the door hinge pins) but want to make sure it's doable first. If there's no inner door structure would that nut on the back side be enough to stabilize the mirror on just the sheet metal, also how did you hold the nut on the inside to tighten without a wrench? Any feedback much appreciated!!

Mines a double skin just like yours but it won’t reach the nut. What am I doing wrong? :(

are you using the j bug mirror like I was?
