I connected deeply with the conversation mentioning the Trail of Tears. I found a binder recently of my father's art that was dedicated to the emotion and feeling of Native Americans who specifically were on the trail and part of that time in history. So much of my father's work are impressions of Native Americans. So many humans. So, so many. Thank you Ashley Josephine Foreman. I have Chippewa in my bloodline. I feel this conversation... and also am a solid witness to it. I will turn back to this video next time I sift through and curate my father's body of work. This nice mutha luva thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Many similarities in our feelings or ingrained traumas and reactions. I could hear it in the genuine tone of her voice. I too get the quiver when you are trying to speak your truth. It's like you can feel it in your solar plexus. She and I even share some genetic and location history. I really wanted to quote what she said about retreating and how we feel about urban sprawl or not protecting the land, but I can't remember it and I tried to go back but you know how that goes lots of distractions. Is there a way to allow for the transcript to show? And I may be one of the few that "study" and ponder on these words of wisdom but I do😂. Beautiful art and beautiful human and all the beautiful beings featured. Including the very large tree! (Redwood?) And I still have no tattoos perhaps one day some lucky tattoo artist will get a shot. Blessings🪷

Where are you at? Thanks for the share and connection. Im not sure specifically what I said either 😅 but definitely like to retreat to calmer and less crowded spaces. The sensory overload of colonialism and urban sprawl can be a bit overwhelming and the calm space is medicine.

@@faelien_ink Hello. I am in Alaska but I left my native home of Florida for many reasons but see the dangers that urban sprawl can bring to nature. And in Alaska I write so many emails and letters to prevent roads being built for no other purpose other than mining and I definitely relate to the indigenous struggle of wanting to protect these sacred lands. But other than that my Father's side of the family also hail from the Appalachian mountains primarily around Tennessee and West Virginia but my father's side of ancestry also comes from Ireland, Scotland, and Wales and then also Native American. Which I do not claim or anything because I have not gotten any blood stuff done or anything. But we know it is there and also Cherokee through my great Aunt. So yeah. Kind of interesting. And last year when I went to Hulaween and met Chris Dyer I felt a deep connection to the indigenous people that were present for the Land Back movement but in a way I felt I was being blessed for some of the work I have done over the years speaking up for many environmental issues. So I really related to you. Thank you for your response.
