I live in Greenhill, my house was in the video. lol That building without half the roof was an old freemason lodge, not a fire station. There is a freemason symbol on the front of the building. The other bigger building used to be the post office, and im sure other stuff throught the years. It's quiet and you can see the stars out here. Plus being super close to Lafayette/West Lafayette makes it a perfect place for me. Thanx for the vid, it was pretty interesting.

I really like how you did that comparison shot with the original map with the current Google maps image back to back on each of the towns. I don’t know if I recall you doing that before, but either way, I thought that added a lot to the presentation.

I'll 'sub' the first time, because you included the Wabash Railroad-- not all the travelogue folks do that. Not sure how you pick your towns, but they're different than the others'. Thanks for highlighting the Wabash Valley, as its part of a pocket of the country I haven't covered well, although I've been to all the lower 48..

Appreciate this video. I spent a good portion of my childhood in 5 different houses in Warren County. West Lebanon and Williamsport both, were a lot busier in the 70's. I lived in one of those "dilapidated" buildings next to the water falls. It was quite impressive after a lot of rain. It is sad to see how much those two towns have changed since I lived there. It was while I lived there that SR 63 was built. Remember those days well. In fact, it was completed just in time for the Blizzard of '78. We moved to southern Fountain County in '79. Mom and Dad worked in, both, Danville and Lafayette. Know those towns pretty well too.

Beautifully done and really touched my heart and soul as I have driven around here before. As usual you really captured it so well. I have been lucky to see the waterfall in Williamsport actually having water and it is sad you did not get to hear or see it as it really is pretty when that happens. I also suspect the more favorable tax and business atmosphere in Indiana you have pointed out in detail in other videos actually has prevented a worse look and more hope for the future. A shout out for your comment on Midwest weather...spot on!

I am VERY surprised that you did not include anything about Pine Village which is located in the NE portion of Warren County and due west of West Lafayette. It actually still has an elementary school and before consolidation with Seeger Memorial in 1973, the high school was known as the Pine Village Pine Knots. Another often overlooked historical note is that Pine Village once was the home of Indiana's first pro football team and one of the first professional football teams in the US (1915). The team, known as the Villagers had it's beginning in 1898 when Clinton Beckett introduced football to Pine Village High School. Eventually, the team opted to go pro in 1915 and even had the great Jim Thorpe on it's roster for a time. Just so everyone knows, I grew up in Indiana but not in Warren County. It would have been nice to have mentioned some about Pine Village other than just in passing.

Farmers rule there and the ones who don't like farming I agree the kids move to more exciting cities to chase their dreams. After that trip your Blazer needs some TLC from Indiana dirt roads!!!!!

If you think this area is rural, you should check out our lil corner of the world. Southern Indiana is mainly rural. Obviously, the closer ya get to Louisville KY, the more people. But Lawrence, Orange, Martin & Washington counties are all quite rural. There's probably more cows, than people 😉 definitely more chickens! It is very beautiful down here, tho. Thanks to the hills & hollers. Much love ~from southern Indiana ❤️

Might as well check it out. Milford is just 20 minutes from Lafayette? Someone should build some "Tiny Homes" and apartments and rent them to college students for a few hundred$/month less than a run down apartment closer to Purdue. Population could double in one year. Reminds me of the movie Hoosiers. Lol, all of this urban vs rural. I grew up in a small town but would never want to live there. That was where my parent's chose to live. It was fantastic but that was their life. I couldn't deal with it now. I love urban life and it fits who I am. I need to have a choice of everything and be by stuff and people. I need to be near the airport, the gym, my work, my friends, my groups, etc. I am also near so many parks that you would never know I am in the city. I guess everyone lives where they need to be and what makes them happy. I just love seeing these videos and seeing places I will never see in person.

I used to live near that area and may be able to shed some light on the two names for a sibgle city thing. It may very well have been called Green Hill as well as Poole city. In the late 1800s there was a large getman baptist influence that came through and they kind of called things by whatever they felt like at the time leaving a lot of places with a common name and the lesser known german baptist name. Frankfort is one of those places as ita both known as Frankfort and its given name Gem City. Gem city statted as a nickname but it was taken by the german baptist community and when i was a kid you could see references to the name even in the 90s

Why is the north-south 4-lane highway in this area Indiana Highway 63 while the main north-south 2-lane highway in this area is US Highway 41? It seems peculiar that the state highway is the wider and faster route while the federal highway is the narrower and slower route. If I were driving between Chicago and Evansville and wanted to make good time rather than go sightseeing, I'd take the 4-lane route. (It's also shorter, so there's even less reason to use the 2-lane route.) So that means switching from US 41 to Indiana 63 and back to US 41. It would make much more sense to put the US 41 designation on the 4-lane route between Carbondale and Terre Haute and put the Indiana 63 designation on the 2-lane route between these two places. Anyone driving between Chicago and Evansville could just stick to US 41 and not have to change routes.
