I find this song talks about a lot of Corey's life (or anybody else's life for that matter). Sometimes your past or your present is "too tragic" to stay with what you have, so you continually break away from the pain. You "seperate" from "the shape". The shape to me is a visual representation of Corey's life, and how he continues to seperate himself from his life and his surroundings. Look at it as somebody shutting down from the world, or running away. Everytime this happens, though, he becomes more and more lost, until the shape (his life) is simply "broken and thrown away". Pretty powerful, especially at the last part of the song.

The drums sounds different because for the IOWA album was Joey Jordison the drummer, from the Gray Chapter to know Jay Weinberg has been the drummer, but I love how they both play. Awesome reaction bro

If you want to go further into this seriously look into Iowa, that song - though long - is one of the scariest songs they've put out! But seriously check out their 96-97 demos as they give a unique and special perspective on the band at their weirdest!

One of the reasons the drums sound different is because Joey Jordison did them on this album (rip). Joey did all the way from Self Titled to All Hope Is Gone, then Jay Weinberg came in at .5 The Gray Chapter, doing WANYK and now their up-and-coming album, which I think still has yet to be named.
