True about those miserable days mate. I've been out today trying to catch live bait. Had to resort to ultra light lures for 3 perch. Took them to the spot I had in mind, had two out, right at the death, one a scraper double 👍

Once upon a time in Ireland, a group of us caught a 23 pound pike and a 5 lb Perch in the same day, My record in Carp is 8 doubles in 1 day all over 10 pound biggest 16 ..once caught a 16 pound carp on a pole rod, on a single bit of corn .lol

You'd have loved the 'strip ponds ' which used to be north of town to the left of the river . Full of pike , perch and roach but unfortunately they were filled in with landfill in the early eighties ( i think )
