I bought this badge holder/wallet from their Kickstarter campaign. I use it for work becasue I need to show my ID. I do have touble using the RFD scanner at work in some cases. It's a solid choice if you don't need to carry a bunch of cards. Nice Review.

Great review. I have had this same holder and use it only for my badge. I've been using it for over a year and it's great at holding a extra card or 2. I never use four cards in it.

I've used my GOVO Titanium for 1.5 years. It's solid, and very well made. The outside of the screen is still clear despite daily exposure on a lanyard. The 4 card max lets me carry my bare essentials, and an RFID card. If I ever need more card space, I have a second GOVO in the very light, plastic frame. I'd lanyard the plastic, and pocket the titanium. The pocket clips on both versions are very tight holding. The clips, and lanyard connectors are strong, quality metal.

This wouldnt be my first choice as an EDC, but I like how you are very thorough no matter which wallet you review

Been using this for two-ish years. I do have the aluminum version. The badge card I have at the front is scanning RFID just fine. At the back, I have a contactless credit card, and that scans too, often (sometimes it won't, but the point is it is not blocking RFID, on either the credit card or the badge card's radio frequency). The spring is holding my cards (4 cards) as tightly as it has been like it's brand new. The only scratch I have is on the outside of the polycarbonate. I'd still say it's durable. I never use the clip for money. It's strictly for clipping to my front pocket pants (horizontally). This is not EDC. It's been holding: Badge - Insurance Card - Debit/ATM Card - Credit Card I put my other cards in a Decadent Minimalist wallet. I never carry cash.

I use the tan/coyote brown poly carbonate version for work for about 2 years. This is a lifetime badge holder, but like most dust and debris will get in between the rfid card and screen, but you can blow it out. A little thick for wallet use. The external side of the screen scratches easily.

As you pointed out it would be great for an I. D. holder and a card or two but for an EDC wallet not so good. Great video.

Glad to see more efforts at an ID holder, but I don't think it will replace the Summit I've been using. It's a little bulky for me.
@alexc12874 жыл бұрын
This would be great to carry you ID at work. I wonder if it will allow a key card to be read through the plastic?
@ChrispyThings4 жыл бұрын
Well that’s why I rested my barcode reader on it. As far as an actual key card, I can’t say for sure but the barcode scanner read my card perfectly.

Nice review Chrispy. I've had a Govo for about two years and used it quite a bit. With regard to the RFID, I use an ID badge at work and it works on some of the scanners but the majority it doesn't so I have to take my card out and scan it, which is a bit of a pain. It's a shame as that stops me using it more often than not. You're right about not using it as a wallet, there are much better alternatives, but as a badge holder it is pretty solid, it's just a shame that they don't have an option for a lower thickness screen, to make scanning work more often.

Awesome viddy as usual, CT! This looks really cool...great review as usual. I don’t think I would ever use this as a wallet (thanks to your awesome review) but I have been in need of a new badge holder for awhile now. Hence, good timing with this video! I am a teacher, so I always need my ID displayed on a lanyard. Also, I need my badge to get into the building via a badge scanner. Looks to me like this would work great as a badge holder that would last me pretty much forever. Thanks! 💪

If you grab one, can you update us on how it works scanning your badge at a terminal? I’d love to know if it actually works as they say. My bar scanner worked great but it’s not necessarily the same as an rfid scanner.

Chrispy Things hey. I ended up purchasing the GOVO blue badge holder, without the clip. Definitely glad I did that, because I would never use this as an edc wallet. As a badge holder though? I love it. And, I can scan my badge, so that’s a go. Just make sure you don’t have the card they included with the holder inserted, because that card is meant to have RFID blocking capabilities. Anyway, thanks again for showing us this! Loving the badge holder. 👍

Yeah, agree with most...badge holder primarily. Not sure I would use as wallet at all...don’t see any advantage over just pulling my wallet out for payment. With that in mind, can get less costly, equally robust alternative badge holders. It looks nice, but cost to performance ratio too high. Not on my wish list. Review on the other hand, top notch.
@ChrispyThings4 жыл бұрын
Good point. If all you need is a badge holder without the need to carry other cards, I’m sure there are a ton of other options out there less expensive.

If it’s made of metal or any hard material, it’s always a front pocket carry. I never recommend carrying an aluminum wallet in the back pocket.
