I solved two categories & then I stepped away from the puzzle to go on an appt & let my brain work on the remaining two categories. I was pulling into my garage and made an error & said “Geez” to myself. Lightbulb! I ran into my home to test my theory & it worked! It took another couple of hours to find the 4th item in that category though.

I did this today, got no mistakes and blue and purple first. I was so, SO surprised that the bot said it was extremely tricky today. It wasn't until I saw your video that I understood. I never got the pictures on mine, I got the words!

It's so funny that you immediately tried to assign each image a word; it made me realize I deliberately *avoided* doing that for fear that I would assign the wrong word and then get stuck on that idea.

I LOVED this one! I used to draw pictogram puzzles for my kids and tuck them in their backpacks. Also as a writer and editor, it was a nice break from words! (Although I’m also an illustrator and graphic designer-though not that great at it. 😄) I also remember the old Concentration gameshow that would reveal piece by piece a pictogram puzzle. I had a home version with pictogram puzzles that you scrolled up from behind the game board back in ’60s or ’70s. So much kvetching about this one in NYT comments section. 😆

In regards to your first comment in the video, here in Australia the games reset at midnight our time, so if we play them then we get to experience them long before the UK.

The games reset at midnight wherever you are, purely based on the time on your device. In fact, you can change the system date on your PC and access tomorrow's puzzle (or go even further into the future - it seems the NYT loads them many days in advance).

There were complaints that the puzzle was not able to be done by blind people. Maybe they changed it back to words.

This was a fun one, I got the regular rainbow no mistakes. It was indeed delta not side like a triangular wetlands area with lots of branches where a river ends. Cog is a single wheel with teeth and a set of them makes a gear, but people have also just said gear to refer to cog so that's an accepted meaning now and what they put. I like the proper definition where a gear is an actual simple machine to transmit power not just a lone toothed wheel.

The tee tea tshirt and mouth connection that people guessed was mouth representing gossip or the tea. I enjoy when they do a weird connection like this as long as it's rare enough to be special if they did it once a week I think it would be too much.

Very fun puzzle today :) Does anyone else use copilot to sort out categories? I unfortunately got spoiled because they put in the words (answers) instead of images, which feels like it gave me an unfair advantage. For example I thought fudge was ice cream but copilot revealed that it was in fact fudge.

I’m glad they did something new, but I have to say, I thought the picture challenge was too far gone from the basis of the game. Didn’t really enjoy it. (And not just because I failed miserably. Lol.)

In the purple classification, the triangular shaped object was a "delta," definitely a part of a river, which you mentioned while identifying the picture, but didn't settle on in your answer. People who had decided that the Delta was a "triangle" put it with the "T" group. I usually put chocolate sauce on my sundaes because I like that better. Rather than "fudge" I thought of the word "sauce," which I have been known to say when upset "Rats" is one of my fave mild oaths, so I saw that category fairly quickly. * I didn't see this as "parts of a river" but rather as "actions on a project." You can "put it aside" (A side of a triangle), "give it lip service" "take it to the bank" or "bank on it" and "put it to bed." I feel this works equally well, so I'm taking it!! 😊

And thought the nuts were mixed nuts. So I just grouped the plurals together along with the fudge (thought it was just toppings hence the plural) and it happened to be right
