I’ve had about 5 of arrmas 3s models and all with the spectrum motor and there junk every 3 runs I have to warranty them out for bearing failure now the vxl motor never had a problem with

Out of all the 25+ years I've been in the RC hobby, I've never warranty a single part. I always just upgrade to better parts and electronics when things break. Stock electronics in RTRs are just made to get you started. If they were meant to last the life of the vehicle, aftermarket companies would probably go out of business.

battery fitment and the traxxas connectors were exactly why i bought the arrma. its been a blast so far. i dont jump mine much. but its been through several gnarly wrecks and amazingly nothing has broken. highly recommend the vorteks

I hope you know traxxas can be used with straps and the connector can be replaced :D like 5 bucks for a connector converter and can run any battery you want....

@@0000zer0 I have. I've spent a ton of money on trucks and cars that's out of production. Arrma is good. But not made in America. I live in Oklahoma. One state from Texas . And Traxxas has their history. So what. Yes . Money traps . No matter who or what you buy . But calling me a noob . Lol. I'm 49 and started these back when radio shack had the golden arrow. And wanted a tomyia frog kit. And Traxxas was just getting started. But it's nice to go to almost any hobby store and get parts without ordering. They guarantee parts availability rest of your life for any vehicle they have after they made that commitment

Love the video. Rustler fan here. Tip: if you want to run body posts swap in a set of Stampede 4x4 shock towers. They bolt right up to the front and rear diffs. Plus you've had them in your store for 20 years!

3mm shaft lol. I hated my first hobby grade rc. It was a junk pile. Got the 4s kraton and did everything the rustler was never able to do and after 2 years didnt get tired of it until i got into the 6s trucks.

@Vape N Clash i did get a bigrock to 4s But it was just a kraton 4s with another shell at the of the end. The 3,4s handles meh. Suffers froms a lot of understeer in my case i didnt know hwo to fight understeer until i got my felony and converted it to a C8 and i widen the rear even more with talion axles. It didn't want to drift one bit Until i raised the rear diff fluid and kept the rest stock. Now it spins when i want it. Wish i discovered that 3 years ago

Do you think either of these are a worthy upgrade over a 2WD Rustler VXL? Also, the Vortex has those lifted walls on the chasis to keep dirt out it looks like. Might be nice? Curious about performance too…

I would say that depends on what you use it for. I'm all in for tearing shit up. Slap heli, Turbine Flight, and BASHING Trucks is all I do, so compared to a 2WD Rustler, imo these are fun for days for me. If you're into racing, the pre-runner style seems to be ideal as far as weight and speed. But if you're out to convert a ground vehicle into an aerial vehicle at the skate park, these are both monsters. The VXL takes the lead for the fact that they do not bullshit you when they say that gear swap (included in the box) will give you 65 mph. The caveat is that at 65, WHEN you whack something, you're definitely looking at breakage. If you're hardcore into this hobby, you already account for that when you buy a new rig. As a former 2WD racer, I can say that I'll never go back to 2-legged RC, nor will I ever return to nitro. I'd say do it. If you're a novice driver, I'd start cheaper with the Team Associated Rival MT10. It's a bit easier handling out of the box and has a REALLY solid build. I got my other half interested in this stuff and she is constantly creaming things and we have yet to have a break that puts the truck out of commission. The radio with it is a turd, but who in tarnation uses included radios anyhoo. It's a 3S truck as well and has deans connectors which really helps on battery cost. we get a pair of 8,000 mAh, 3S, 50C batteries for 70 bucks and going hard, we get a solid hour of run time from those and only spent 70 bucks. Sorry Traxxas, but I hack off your ID connectors and replace them with XT60's for my gear because I can not validate the use of the 'recommended' batteries when they cost an arm and a leg, can only be balanced with ID chargers, yet perform just the same as most other brands. Sorry for the diatribe but I love edibles and informing people before they get scammed. lol Have a wonderful day readers.

When you buy an arrma you own the truck and free to do what ever you want or whatever atrocity you want to create. When you buy traxxas traxxas owns the truck its not yours. You cant do what you want with it most of the time without going to buy more of their stuff. The car keeps reminding you your not his owner. Thats the thing i hate the most. And their business tactics also. Let the costumer do what they want with their buy.
