Never had a problem with the Reach in fouls in anyway, In fact I think its easier to rip the ball now than it has ever been, compared to 2k11 and 2k12. Fantastic game :) keep up the vids smoove :) always entertaining :)

Your right Smoove. I was a 99 overrall and putting up 40 to 50 points a game. But they had me coming off the bench. I became 6 man of the year, when I should have been MVP. I was lead scorer and everything.

True statement, I learned the hard way to quit rage swiping at the ball, now the only time I try to steal is on passes or when the person I am guarding tries dribble moves to drive past me (only because I have pick pocket as a Skill).. the one thing I do find annoying is when you get stuck in that reach animation when you try a pass steal and it leads you into a foul

For the Xbox360 its the A and X button at the same time. Have a passing rating better than 60 and know WHEN to do it to have success.

Played 6 games of my 2k13 career. I have 202,000 fans. My best game stats: 81 points, 15 3-pt FG made, 5 assists 35 field goals made, 1 steal, FG% was 69%, 3-pt FG% was 67%.Thanks to Chris Smoove for teaching me about 2k13, from all of his videos he has posted!

Since you asked Smoove, the starting glitch is mostly fixed. I have 41 minutes on the rotation, I had a bad game with 4 turnovers and got fouled out on the last 2 minutes and I still have the same minutes because I've been playing really good, 1st on MVP race.

It says you will now get the positioned that was agreed upon by the team while testing free agency / extending your contract. So when you went for a contract extension and they said they will offer you (eg.) 600 VC and a role in the starting line up. You will get that role in the starting line up. Same goes as if they promised you to be their 6th man.

I'm really liking the reach-in fouls. I played against this guy yesterday who picked the Thunder, and tried to cheese with Westbrook. He was in the penalty after less than 30 seconds because he reached so much. But the 3pt shooting needs to be turned slightly up, only slightly, because I have been unable to make any (wide open) threes with Paul Pierce, Jamaal Crawford, Billups, and more. The contested shots should be tuned down. 3's were actually OK before, but the contested shots were not.

one thing i want 2k to fix is the 6th man. sometimes the 6th man is meant to be starter quality, but 2k automatically makes highest rated be a starter. jamal crawford is always on the starting lineup instead of the bench

My experiences with the patch: * My PPG has gone way up. * My APG has gone slightly up. * My RPG has dropped really bad... and I mean really bad. (Before the patch I was averaging like 7 - 8 rebounds per game, and now I am getting 2 - 4 per game. * My Shooting % has gone slightly up. * The reach in patch don't really affect me, because I don't try a reach in, but maybe 1 or 2 times a game.

The hilarious part is how if I am double-teamed and I run away from it and I do a Kobe-style fadeaway from midrange or three, that goes in more often than if I am wide open. When it comes to the CPU I will cheese until I am lactose-intolerant, because there are so many things built into the game that are slanted against the player to make you either earn VC in other ways, or what they want to you to do, spend money on VC.

Reach in fouls are crazy. You could not have reach in the entire game but a soon as you hit the button there's the whistle. Might as well turn the X/square button to the int. Foul button

now that you brought it up i did notice a ton of reach-in fouls. my team had 7 reach-in fouls in one quarter. the cpu is doing it too we've gone into bonus free throws in every quarter.

The reach in fouls are a problem. I've gotten fouled out of so many games just for attempting an innocent steal on a lazy ball handler at the top of the key. It's not just mashing the steal button, they'll usually call it as soon as you make one attempt. But I've found that the Pick Pocket signature skill has helped to limit this.

I get tons of rebounds and my PG is only 6'1" and on the Keltics. It's all about timing and vertical. If your player has a crappy vertical rating and you press the jump button too early or too late, you'll probably never get a rebound in your career. Also, I make a good majority of my points from the free throw line. And I attempt to steal 20 times per game, many times in a row too, and get maybe 3 reach-in fouls per game.

I'm w/ you on playing the passing lanes. Most def time your swipe & you can get steals. Only downside I've ran across is you still don't win the well timed block on someone coming at you head up through the lane. That's my only complaint at this time. Keep splashing in em yo. Peace

The reaching foul is not only a problem for yourself, your cpu teammates make a lot more reaching fouls too! I had 3 games in a row, where (12 minute quarters) in 4 minutes my team had allready reached the maximum fouls. And then the opposite team keeps getting free throws. Also online 1vs1, the cpu commits a lot of reaching fouls.

I think the starter glitch has been fixed. I've been on the bench for the past 10 games or so, and as soon as I downloaded the patch, I returned as a starter and have been ever since.

The reach in fouls only bother me when you can't steal the ball from centers and power fowards. But as a 2k vet you adjust to that

If u don't want to called for reach-ins just stand still and be on the side the pg is dribbling and steal it but only do it when they r dribbling up the court.....sometimes I get called for reaches but I usually steal it

The starter "glitch" has been fixed...I purposely had a 10 TO game the other night and kept my starter role. The rebounding has also been fixed. I play a Center in my career and had never had more than 12 boards in a game. First game post patch was a 21 rebound game

If anyone is having problems with reach in's try adjusting your signature skills, whether you steal in the passing lanes or from the dribbler/shooter it helps to have the right skills. With the starter glitch I just keep telling them I don't like whatever point guard gets the minutes I want it also works for getting your fave players more minutes like Gordon or Davis etc...

That's what's happening to a lot of people, but after the patch my PG with a 65 or so Steal rating (I think I put maybe 5 points into it since creation) and I only get called for a reach-in foul maybe 3 times per game with an average of 20 steal attempts per game. I don't know why it's different for a lot of people.

Online people reach in way too much and reach ins occur constantly which is bad because it slows the game down way too much because they stop the game and you have to inbound it like 5-6 per online quarter. I don't reach in often but when I do I typically get called for it. Also I've noticed that my players are not connecting well on10ft passes and the ball will go over them out of bounds or they'll juggle it out of bounds. The passing needs to be turned up slightly.

I get they put the reach-in stuff in for Online, and I'm cool with that. My issue is that I'm getting it called when I first try to rip a center with a guy with 90+ steals. That's the part that's terrible with the patch, and I think that should be adjusted. Maybe pick pocket should lower the reach-in tendency as well too.

I really like the way you play smoove. It's pretty impossible to avoid all cheese, but I don't see why anyone wants to play a basketball simulation game without playing it as if you are playing for real. Blowouts are boring as hell(winning or losing). One thing is I doubt you can dunk in rl(if you can, I'm sorry). I can't dunk in rl so I make sure I can only lay it up, because if I could dunk, I feel like it would be too easy to score when I'm going to the basket.

Chris Smoove I think you have the most influence on the 2k developers and I think in the next patch they should let you talk to the gm and tell them to sign someone in the free agency

Passing - I have noticed with the patch that CPU players all have Spider-Sense when you try to make passes to teammates cutting to the basket. I have seen players who are out of the play make superhuman feats to get in the passing lane once you make the pass, or literally have eyes in the backs of their heads. I will say that sometimes I make bad passes but not six or seven plays in a row, like a game I played last night. That needs to be seriously toned down. Multi-comment rant over.

I am a PG but ever since I became a starter I have been playing SG. Now, with less then 20 games left, I'am finaly the starting PG for the kings and now they put a depressed Salmons (67) at the SG where Thorton plays way better (13 pts/game of the bench). That's BS

Yo I play SF/PG (point fwd skill set) at 7'0 ft 215 lbs. I can actually see the rebounding improved cause it was dumb crazy to get boards w/ 80+ rated players in the paint. You can actually grab em if you win the box out now. Also the shot hadn't changed me either. 3pt rating is 85 & I got the 10 made milestone after the patch. Also you can call plays off the ball. My run plays switches between 6-7 diff plays but it gives a steady dose of whoever is hot at the time.

I believe they fixed the Starter Glitch. I was bumped down to 23 MPG. Then the patch came and I was up to 31 MPG in 2 games. And I got a few bad turnovers and even though the coach put me on the bench, my minutes didnt decrease.

In offline Quick Rank I have Reach-in Fouls turned off but it doesn't really affect my how I play Online or in MyCAREER mode. I mean sure, I get more steals in Offline Quick Rank, but it doesn't put me in the mindset to play like they're turned off in every mode.

Only advice I can give you is: Dunking costs a lot more energy than a lay up, so try lay ups on fast breaks some times

I like the reach in foul on steal attempts but they should adjust it just a little bit because its almost over the top. I think they should call a foul if your continuously reaching but if you just reach in once it should be how it was before. If you don't get the steal and keep reaching then it should be a foul. I like it cos it makes people play smarter defense rather than exploiting the game.

Another thing I saw with the patch is that MyCareer centers aren't being subbed in at odd positions like SF and SG. For some reason my 6'10" center would randomly get subbed in at the SG position during the 3rd quarter.

There was never a starter glitch. What u have to do is at the press conference give praise to your coach and teammeates. When u sit down with the GM tell him coach is doing a great job. You will start after that. Also DO NOT SIM GAMES play every single trust me. There's a lot of goodies in this game if u play all the games.

they need to have a dunk in traffic attribute.. they say that they don't have animation dunks this year but it's pretty much the same thing, the defender just gets shoved back a few inches and you dunk all over everyone and it's impossible to block a dunk

The patch really messed up my style (not my player) I always caught people slipping online but they over do it with the fouls, I think they should make it harder to steal on ball but not every reach should be a foul, it should be easier for the offensive player to blow by. And the passing still Isnt fixed. In this game you have to icon pass everything which is in issue when you wanna bounce pass. Lastly the rebounding still sucks!

Hey Smoove... abou the foul delima, I have been experiencing the same thing. All you need to do is change your gameplay style on the MyCareer menu to "Simulation." They call WAY more fouls on this

Also turnovers are ridiculous. I was passing it to Dirk in the post and he had perfect positioning on the defender. Then as I pass it, the defender morphs through Dirk to get a steal. Team mates also pass the ball back to you before your over the halfway line when your not even calling for it and it counts as your turnover. And has anyone noticed the large amount of kick balls there are. There's so many times the refs call that

BringTheComedy is right about how you poke the ball loose and the CPU automatically recovers it at least 60% of the time. Rebounding - I am not surprised that they didn't fix it, and I doubt if they ever will. Once they went to the VC system that you can purchase with real money, their motivation to make the game fair went right out the window. Not one game goes by where the CPU team just kills it ont he boards, and I have two players with 90+ defensive rebounding (cont)

Many people had a problem with the freezing when signing contract :) On the PC version is that fixed :) And also when I copy the patch into the path can I sign and continue my career with the same team :)

Rebounding was turned up and it happens less where it just bounces and no one gets it. But my CPU teammates will go for uneccessary defensive rebounds that bounce off the rim and are going out of bounds after the other team had last possession and my CPU teammate will chase it down and jump for it out of bounds when all he had to do was let it go and it would be my ball. Not a smart AI system sometimes.

The biggest problem I have with they changing the on ball steal thing is that they didn't change the tendencies of my team mates so they DON'T try on-ball steals! Many MANY times I've got good defensive posetions ruined because they do a reach-in foul late in the shotclock. :/

No the reach in fouls online are ridiculous. The computers get reach in fouls 24/7. I play off ball defense and switch to my center to insure he's in the paint (considering the "dynamic AI" tends to have him stand and watch people drive in) and instantly the computer will try and pick and get a foul.

About the starter glitch. Is anyone here a fan of the PHX Suns? Do they know about what happened to Luis Scola? He is, perhaps, the best guy on the team yet he keeps coming off the bench (soon it will be his 10th game as a non-starter) just because he was 1/6 once and had bad stats in general (that particular contest) and while the other Suns had worse performances since then on many occasions they're not benched whilst Scola is. Don't worry Smoove, the starter cheese exists in real life too.

Smoove, your nearly right on these points. The Reach IN FOULS WERE SO TERRIBLE. It's somewhat balanced and the rebounding is still a little broken. But I want 2k to really add fouls when we go for a layup or dunk, cause the lean layup is cheese. It's so weird, i mean you and many other youtubers went to there HQ and its like they never listen to you guys.

Dimer dosent active as consistant as it use to be, i think they should have never changed the passing accurcy becuase we did witness Wade toss a full court lob to James. Pick Poket "100% Chance" Works 10% of the time. 3 pointers Should be re tuned maybe slightly better tha pre patch Becuase I have never played against zone as much as I have now.
