I think relationships are complicated. Christi wasn’t always right, and Melissa wasn’t always wrong. They were both under extreme pressure, so it’s no wonder they lashed out in the ways they did. We have never been in their situations so it’s unfair to judge them too harshly. I do side with Christi much more than I side with Melissa, because usually the way Christi acted was in reaction to Melissa (or Melissa and Abby teaming up), so if Melissa had just been honest about things in the first place, some blow ups wouldn’t have occurred. With that being said, Christi would cross the line when she aired details about Melissa’s affairs, but I’m sure Christi would even agree to that now that it’s all said and done.

One thing I always found strange about the show is how Abby acted like the ALDC was some super prestigious dance studio that was super well-known, when in reality it was really struggling financially before the show, and Dance Moms basically saved her business. In her introduction package for the first episode, she said that people around the country 'knew her' because she 'produced stars', but do we actually have any confirmation that any of her dancers that weren't on the show became famous, or at least did well in the dance industry? I also find it odd how she acted like Mackenzie, Kendall, and Nia were famous for their singing careers, and Chloe was recognised because of being the lead in the Lux music video, when we all know they rose to fame through the show. I just think Abby kind of acted like she was responsible for making the cast celebrities, not Dance Moms, which I would love to see an episode on, maybe something like 'what was the ALDC like before the show/during the times Dance Moms wasn't being filmed', or 'how much of reputation did the ALDC actually have', without the obvious answer of being on Dance Moms. I know Abby said she actually lost a lot of business during the show.

The one time Melissa rebelled against Abby in the earlier seasons Abby wouldn’t give Maddie a solo and gave Chloe a punishment solo against Sophia someone she didn’t train and that was much more advanced than Chloe and probably even Maddie. Abby caused most of the issues between Melissa and Christi and it always put Melissa in a difficult spot cause if she argued she risked her business being told and if she was quiet she was a coward and afraid to own up to anything.

I didn't particularly like Melissa while she was on the show, but it was fairly clear that along with the sneakiness she's a very emotional and sensitive person. I really do believe her when she says she would protect everyone if they could do it again. It's easy to say that, but with how emotional she is, the plenty of times she has and had offered to help other kids, and the fact that she has maintained since they start that they're all a family even with some of the tension she may have with the other moms, I personally believe it's true. Like she was talking about in the last podcast clip, as much as she would get into it with some moms she still was protective of them all because they were family. Also with her relationship with Abby gone, I think she can see it all more clearly and allows herself to be a bit more honest now that she doesn't need to defend Abby constantly because of everything she had over her girls. You can see that, especially at the end of her run on the show.

Anxiety, Christy has anxiety for everything her daughter dealt with during the show thanks to the sneaky things Melissa did for Abby to start treating her daughter awfully. She agreed to participate with the other mom's at the podcast but last minute she backed down. she says she's working on her relationship with Melissa. I have a daughter on my own, and it'd be really heartbreaking and infuriating if I see my baby girl get treated like Chloe did.
@melanierojo21252 жыл бұрын
My exact thought! Yes, Meliss did everything for her kids to be on top but she never threw shade at the other moms in a personal way, whily Christi constantly slut-shamed Melissa, fat-shamed Abby and others, and constantly throws low blows at others outside the reality show life only. Edit: Chloe was absolutely one of the biggest Abby victims, but this does not excuse other behaviors. There are no such things as bad or good guys, we're all human who do both bad and good, and Chloe being a victim does not automatically make Christi innocent or inherently good.

the way I see it, I was a competitive cheerleader so I know what it’s like to see your teammates as competition and sometimes envy them for it, which I imagine was no different for them as dancers. Christi and Melissa both contributed to this competition whether they’d like to admit it or not which formed not just an extremely unhealthy ‘work’ environment, but also made their children nervous wrecks because they were more focused on being the better dancer instead of being an all-around strong dancer to benefit the team. this is where comp dance / cheer can get ugly bc jealousy and insecurity is almost guaranteed.

I find it unfair that they all gang up on melissa, it seemed like a lot of people were on christi’s side but not a lot on melissa’s and I really feel like Christi is much more calculated and competitive than Melissa. The fact that she can never keep Melissa’s name out of her mouth. She still talks about her I’m sure. Christi would talk about Melissa on her podcast and i haven’t heard a peep about Christi on Melissa and the moms podcast.

I t was obviously that Melissa was a stage mom while she denied it then played victim. Christi had some rough times as well but she was for fairness just like Kelly and Holly were. It felt like the rivalry was there even before the show, so I doubt they were ever truly friends. I think as moms you try your best to get along when your children are doing extracurricular as together, which I feel is what their relationship was at best. They were too different to be compatible. Granted they may not have ended things so sourly without the show, but who’s to say they wouldn’t have had the same issues without the cameras on them?

@rissarea232 жыл бұрын
I feel like a lot of people are forgetting that the producers staged a lot of stuff. For example Christy said the moms were not allowed to leave the studio at night until they made Drama by picking a fight with one of the other moms. Jill backed her up on it saying that they got home at 12:00 or 1:00 am. And a lot of the cast from the later seasons will also say that the producers would tell them you need to act like this or say this or such and such thing is going to happen. And of course since it's a reality TV show they're not going to put every instance of kindness that the cast showed and that they captured on camera they're not going to put that on TV because they want drama and they want good ratings so of course they're going to go with the things that cause the most drama. There could have been 10 times the amount of good things that were said or good things that happened between Melissa and Christi that we weren't shown because they weren't dramatic enough

I think it’s time the dance mom fandom accepts that christi is no better than Melissa and that both of them aren’t the greatest on the show .. I’m not defending Melissa at all because I don’t care for her either, but many times on the show christis behavior was just down right despicable . Her yelling at Paige that her mom is jealous of her and her daughter , her causing senses in front of the children on numerous occasions making them cry , the way she treated any new mom coming in . She honestly is guilty of everything she hates Abby for . I remember that kristie ray says at a reunion that the other moms say christi bullies them and none of them denied it or spoke against it saying that it wasn’t true . Even Melissa has called Kelly out for saying christi is shady at times and fights dirty , Wich is what made christi quickly change the subject and start talking about Melissa’s personal life and marriage issues . She is clearly just not a very nice person and is angry about the way Chloe is treated by Abby Wich is completely understandable , but I think Abby makes a valid argument when she says well if you hate it why do you come back I truly believe christi was living though her child .The scene in the first season where she visits her childhood home she unintentionally admits to living though her daughter wich makes sense and most likely why she acts the way she does because it’s not about Chloe it’s about her , even threatening to punish Chloe just for being nervous before a dance and yelling at her for not trying hard enough or caring enough . I honestly think when she calls Melissa out it’s her projecting her own issues onto her because she does a lot of the same things and has the same motives Melissa does but deals with it in a different way . Christi is just the funny and angry version of Melissa .

I always loved Christi but season 1-3 Christi was a huge hypocrite. Chloe got better treatment than everyone but Maddie, and Nia or Paige would have loved to be in Chloe’s shoes. She used to expect Holly and Kelly to defend Chloe when their kids were way worse off. She only really got it when Kalani came and Chloe was properly pushed to the side. Both were just as competitive in my eyes and I loved it. 😂😂😂 They were my favourite part of the show.

I side more with Christi because even though Christi did overreact and jump to conclusions sometimes Christi never came off as a liar and sneaky like Melissa did. Melissa was just very sneaky and two faced and the fact that Abby who despises Christi and saying something similar and backing up some of what Christi and the moms have said says a lot. In the end i hope they have left the drama behind and are in a more respectful place since the issues between them and their kids all goes back to Abby who pitted them against each other.

Kelly was a student at Aldc when she was like 5 to like 14/15 but then kelly convinced her parents she no longer wanted to dance bc it took all her time and she did not have any time to hang out with friends and what nots. according to both Kelly and Abby, Kelly was like top notch dancer and was one of Abby’s favorite. She always had the best dances and the best choreography and the best classes. but once she quit, Abby held that against her ever since then. and took it out more on Paige than Brooke bc Brooke was a way better dancer than Paige. kelly lowkey was like getting to like rockettes style dancing level. Like baby pushed her and her friends so hard, Kelly wasn’t the only one who left, it was other students who also would say the same thing.

It's disgusting to me that Christi didn't want to apologize to Maddie for screaming in her face. Like are you serious? Screaming at a 7/8 year old for something that was out of her control? It's not like Maddie chose to perform those two solos -- she did what she was told, and so did Chloe. Of course it wasn't fair for Chloe to have a brand new solo versus Maddie having 2 already-known solos. But why take that out on a child? It wasn't the first time Christi got in a child's face like that. I'm pretty sure she made Paige cry, too. That's disgusting. I don't think Christi should always get a pass -- she clearly was in the wrong a lot of times, too.
