It's a pretty common reaction for people to seek the comforts of a higher power following a traumatic event. It could be as a result of wanting to find some sort of closure, some justification or explanation for the event, or some form of reassurance in the way of promised niceties, things to that effect. Not to mitigate or downplay your experiences as such, though. But yeah no it's a common enough thing to not be an entirely unique experience.

Oh I would love to, but I am only doing the KJV now because its one of the few translations that is in the public domain. Most other translations only allow people to read 500-1000 verses, anything more than that requires express permission from the publishers (which they dont give out easily).

I’m not a Christian, but I’m open to listening about it, this may be a stupid question, but what is the order of the Bible? And do I have to listen to each chapter chronologically? Thanks!
@Kirsten-ic9ox Жыл бұрын
The best chapters to read as a beginner Christian in my opinion is John and James. NIV and English Standard are very easy to understand too, but I use KJV. If you want to learn about God before Jesus’s coming and God’s chosen people, you should read w the Old Testament. The New Testament is about the life and teachings of Jesus and explains his sacrifice and who he is. It also deals with many issues humans in general deal with. It’s been very helpful to me. For the Old Testament, you might want to read it chronologically and look up the timelines and writers for the book you are reading. For the New Testament, Matthew, Mark, John, and Luke write about Jesus’s life on Earth and death so you may want to start with those. After reading those, you can probably continue freely and maybe that will help with context. I really hope I helped you and I hope I didn’t overwhelm you, God bless ❤
@dailybreadasmr Жыл бұрын
In terms of the big picture, the Bible is divided into the Old and New Testament. The books are not in chronological order, but instead are divided into categories. - History - Poetry - Prophecy - The Góspel Accounts - Epistles (letters written to the church) It doesn’t matter in what order you read them per say, but starting with one of the Gospels (like John) and then reading Romans is what I’d recommend. Then slowly read everything else because every book is important and it’s amazing how they interconnect!
