I hate everytime i creep on dior fashionshows i read comments about how galliano was better than raf and all this bs. Yes galliano was good. But lets just be realistic for once, id wear these clothes. No one would wear galliano's. Galliano was all about shows, simons is so sophisticated and wearable. However, its not about galliano or simons, its about Dior. DIOR. Were watching dior's show. Not whoever the designer is. Period.

@@markpeter4304 lol maybe you didnt visit the exhibition Dior the designer of dreams, half of this collection was displayed there in the louvre museum😂😂 FYI these pieces are made to order so there is only the sample the models are wearing which are usually kept in the archive (at least the best of them) or simply produced for the client by order. These pieces are not displayed in the boutiques or mass produced. These are haute couture = produced by order and cost a fortune. Educate yourself first.

@@markpeter4304 yes its true, there are Dior pieces in thrift stores and outlets, these are ready to wear collections, a lot of them were not even fashionshow pieces, mainly theyre the money makers and mass produced, simple and displayed in all of Dior boutiques. Yes, these are the ones you mentioned, THAT fashion show is haute couture. These pieces are custom made for THE client who already paid for them. So there is noway you’ll find these in thrift stores, unless the buyer is dumb enough to waste a very expensive piece that goes a up to 100k dollars and sell it for 10 dollars. Just like paintings, there are the worthless paintings, and there are the priceless paintings such as the ones made by Van Gogh.

I hoped I could do this constructively--without attacking or criticizing anyone--because creating and putting together a show like this must have taken lots of effort and resources. To start off, I have to say, in my opinion, the only focal point of this collection is those jackets. Other than that, I am left wondering what Christian Dior's design signature characteristics are. I noticed in Dior's past few collections, younger, more relaxed cuts and silhouette are present. At the same time I felt I wanted to see more characters that have been signature of Dior's design.

I love the jackets, but to be honest.. Dior's better when Galliano was still their head designer before. During Galliano's time, the designs were more lively, whimsical and yet it didn't lost touch of Dior's signature sophistication and elegance. But now, looking at it, well it's okay. But how come it feels like something is missing...

Can we all just get over the fact Galliano is out of the picture now? Time to move on! His "reign" is over. Anyway, Dior is not about Galliano, it is about DIOR! It should not matter who the designer is for the house, it should still be DIOR. So, if you do not feel the current designer speaks to what the house should be, then maybe they need a new one. Galliano isn't the answer. Just as Karl Lagerfeld is not the house of Chanel - CHANEL is! When he passes on, they'll have to find someone who can speak to what Chanel means. I am growing very tired of these Galliano fanatics that just won't let it rest! Do you love Galliano.....or DIOR?

erik3579 Yes, we can all get over. And you're right, this is about Dior and not about Galliano. but, my point is, Galliano was the designer who gave Dior a colorful vibe. In my opinion, he was the one who made it very refreshing, very whimsical and yet still classy. That is why, when they took him out, it felt like they also put out the color. It's not as good as before and I missed those days. You're right, it's about the brand, but the designer is the one who gives it life.

Chynna Cotaoco You make a very good point! And I agree! It is not just about the mere article of clothing......it is about the person behind it. And Galliano gave his creative genius to Dior and added to a chapter of its rich history. And you are definitely right in saying that the color is gone! And my point was not to depreciate Galliano and his contributions, but instead to stop dreaming about what it was and instead focus on what it is and will be! It's all about the future and "what's next!" That's fashion!

You will. FYI Dior himself said he renewed the 18th century fashion. You clearly see it in the shop’s interiors too. The colors, the volume, the feminine details. Its all what Dior stands for. Why use fake fur For Haute Couture!! It makes the whole collection CHEAP. What is the meaning of “high fashion” without using real fur and leather. The real deal is much more environmentally friendly than PLASTIC.
