FYI akhi, we cross our arms because of the example of Rasoolullah SAW in Sahih hadith: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ حُمَيْدٍ - عَنْ ثَوْرٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَضَعُ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى يَدِهِ الْيُسْرَى ثُمَّ يَشُدُّ بَيْنَهُمَا عَلَى صَدْرِهِ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ ‏.‏ Narrated Tawus: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to place his right hand on his left hand, then he folded them strictly on his chest in prayer. When you mentioned you prayed with your hands straight, are you a Maliki madhab or syiah? No Sunni Muslims ever Believe that folding hands to prevent the soul from leaving the body, there's Zero evidence of this.. I don't know where you get this information from. Don't get me wrong nothing judgemental just clarifying.

Firstly: Clasping the hands when praying means placing the right hand over the left when standing. This is one of the sunnahs of prayer, and is proven from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). This is the view of the majority of scholars. Ibn Qudaamah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: As for placing the right hand on the left during prayer, it is one of the sunnahs of prayer according to the majority of scholars. That was narrated from ‘Ali, Abu Hurayrah, al-Nakha’i, Abu Majlaz, Sa’eed ibn Jubayr, al-Thawri, al-Shaafa’i and ashaab al-ra’i. It was also narrated by Ibn al-Mundhir from Maalik. End quote. Al-Mughni (1/281) The scholars of the Standing Committee said: Clasping the hands in prayer means placing the right hand over the left hand, and letting the arms hang means letting them hang down by the sides. It is proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) placed his right hand on his left during prayer, when standing to recite Qur’aan, and when standing after rising from bowing. This is according to the report narrated by Ahmad and Muslim from Waa’il ibn Hajar (may Allaah be pleased with him), that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) raising his hands and saying takbeer when he started to pray, then he wrapped his cloak around himself, then he placed his right hand on his left. When he wanted to bow, he brought out his hands, then he raised them and said takbeer, then he bowed. When he said “Sami’a Allaahu liman hamidah (Allaah hears the one who praises Him)” he raised his hands, and when he prostrated, he prostrated between his hands.” According to a report narrated by Ahmad and Abu Dawood he said: Then he placed his right hand on his left hand, wrist and forearm. According to a report narrated by Abu Haazim from Sahl ibn Sa’d al-Saa’idi: The people were commanded to place the right hand on the left forearm when praying. Abu Haazim said: All I know is that he attributed it to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Narrated by Ahmad and al-Bukhaari. There is no hadeeth to prove that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) let his arms hang by his sides when standing during prayer. End quote. Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah.

Salam brother, I remember hearing a sunni scholar say this on a video. I tried looking for it. Perhaps I'm mistaken, so i will withdraw my comment. If i do find the video, i will send you the link, and if i do find it, i hope you know that i do not believe that one scholar represents all people, so it could have been the belief of only that one scholar. @@TalkAboutIt21 I agree with you, that could be this scholar own opinion his ijtihad, but no where is there a record in the hadith, we just follow what the sahaba saw and records in the Hadith, and it's authentic. I would suggest you to do a react of Karbala by Yasir Qadhi, it is a long video but you can cut it by parts like 30 mins each? because as a Sunni myself I have look upon the Shia version too, I hope we could be open mind towards each other, may Allah guide us and forgives our shortcomings, Sunni and Shia both. @@redkakkarot I have seen brother Yasir Qadhi's video on Karbala. I also thank you for being genuine. A lot of others are quick to call shia bad things. Only Allah knows for certain who will enter heaven. Therefore, i watch videos from all scholars Sunni and Shia and compare and read the books myself. Everyone should be open-minded, and if they are incorrect on a topic, should be humble enough to concede that they were mistaken instead of being ignorant. @@TalkAboutIt21 thank you brother, I can agree as a layman and someone who not a witness over something that's happened over 1400 years ago with our own eyes, all we could rely on are narration based own their own interpretation, but it is up to us what kind of a Muslim we going to be, as for Shia I believe you should know there are extreme ones who would go as far as to curse the mother of believes and the close sahabas of the Prophet pbuh, as goes with some Sunni, some would go extreme to label all Shias as Kafir, that's wrong, as long they have the right Believes, that there's no deity worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad is his last messenger, that person is a Muslim, wether he follows sunnah or he has his own understanding that is between him and Allah in the day of judgement will be judged upon. But as a Sunni I would just reassure you we love the Ahlul bayt, we respect all sahaba even if some made mistakes because it is not for us to judge who are going to hell or heaven, whatever the dispute and civil they had in the past that is the past, but I believe there's an ayat in the Qur'an where Allah mentioned in the day of judgement those who enters heaven, it is as they have no problems or grudges between themselves, and that is the stand we believe, that in the day of judgement Allah would wipe away all negative feeling amongs the believers, that Ali Ra and Aisha Ra anha would not hold any grudges but peace among themselves. I hope I can make you see a little of our proposition. I'm glad you have watch YQ Karbala video Since you have seen it I would highly highly suggest watch his Lives of the Sahaba series next, just to let you understand our interpretation of all the sahabas. May Allah bless you brother. Sunni and Shia really needs to put aside our difference and unite against the enemy of Islam.
