Can anyone give a good explanation for why the police act like this? For example, who specifically decided to keep Hatun in a cell overnight? Who chose 4a.m. as the interview time? Is a strip search just a way of humiliating or demoralising someone? There must be an individual or individuals with a name taking these decisions. But we never find out who they are. Why is the evil doer protected?

The custody officer (sergeant) authorises detention where justified. An Inspector authorises further detention of 6 hour periods. Any disagreement between the two is settled by a Superintendent. Max of 24 hours then different levels/steps of authority are required. Each decision, action or authority must be recorded on the custody record. Similar yet separate codes of practice apply in terrorism cases.

They've been weaponised and made very angry by US and British foreign policies and the culture war that is most vicious in Europe and the US. I think it might also have something to do with numbers: they are now a significant minority in Europe and will be a majority by the end of the century. In Britain and France and certain other countries they will be the majority much sooner. Muslims have 3.7 children per couple while white British couples have 1.1and falling. Islam is the same religion it was a thousand years ago when it wanted to spread across the world by force if necesaary. It's a masculine culture compared to modern Western culture and will easily dominate and take over.
