Cigarette Burns. Was the best of all the Masters of horror. Early Norman Reedus. Love it. Good finds

I get extremely nostalgic when I see these. The DVD era was where my collecting began and I remember the thrill of finding something I had never seen before when I would visit FYE, Suncoast, or any other random store. I wouldn't trade those memories for the world. Fantastic video.

I have to admit I'm jealous of that Hitcher dvd. One of my fave movies. I remember watching it when I was a teenager and it scared the hell outta me when the girlfriend went the way she did. Great find Christian! I also feel like when Dvds first started coming out there were way more special features and great slipcovers then. This is why I love collecting them. I also scavenger hunt for them.

Snapper cases take me back. I remember the Nightmare on Elm Street films came in those. Back when they actually gave a shit enough to give the films decent releases.

"Would you not pick this up if you saw this in the wild?" Indeed. I picked up that edition of Howling 5 and 6 many years ago (possible at Wal-Mart) , and it has been on my shelf ever since.

CHH, what do you think of this? You can get for free from Blockbuster stencils to spray paint on a cabinet, etc, that you're not using anymore, that reads " Take a Video Leave a Video". And what you do is set it up in your yard (presuming you have a decent neighborhood or live in Canada lol) and put in some DVD's that you don't have any use for if it came down to it. I have a good, online acquaintance who did this last week and his pics have gone viral. I guess I have some and I'm sure that's how everyone feels to a degree. But, I also believe that DVDs are going to go the way that some VHS tapes are now. You don't have to be that old to recognize the cycle. Same thing exploded with vinyl. Not sure about 8 tracks but I saw something the other day about cassettes. That might of been just one person's post but it's possible. But just sticking with the DVDs box it's interesting bcuz what if you run across a something someone leaves that drops your jaw? Seem like a good idea now??

Nothing better than the thrill of the hunt! Literally found that Artisan Fright Night 2 at a goodwill a couple of months ago for $3 and some change. Also found the miramax bluray of Godzilla vs. Biollante for $7.99 at a vintage stock, also know as entertainmart in other states I believe!! Patience is always rewarded and I try to avoid buying on eBay when I can avoid it because you’ll save so much money and have a cool story to go with it!!

I own those Stranger Things releases. They were Target exclusives and yes they did put both seasons out on 4K. They did not sell too well which might be the reason that 3-4 didn't get one which is unfortunate. We can only hope that a complete collection gets released once the final season drops.
@z9631248 ай бұрын
Agreed. DVD collecting will be the next trend in collecting. VHS has become more scarce and cost prohibitive in collecting. DVD will start to get bought out second hand and their cost will increase in the coming years.

Cool that you still have a Games Exchange near you. I used to rent all my video games from Games Exchange back in the late 90’s. We no longer have them here in Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦

The 'Stranger Things' VHS box sets were sold exclusively at Target. I snagged both for $10 each on Black Friday. I love the fact you picked up Warlock on DVD. I'm a HUGE fan of that movie and had been hoping for it to finally make its way to DVD, and was crushed when I saw how cheap Lionsgate went on it. I did manage to get it signed by Julian Sands back in 2011, so I'll never part with it. Thankfully, Vestron gave us a great blu-transfer and some awesome extras from Michael Felsher and Red Shirt Pictures.

I met Julian Sands at Texas Frightmare years ago and got him to sign my Warlock One Sheet poster of the first film. Unfortunately, I really needed some money and sold it for $150.
@mattray48768 ай бұрын
@user-lc7kq1xt7j - A friend of mine got my one-sheet signed by him a few years later, and Julian was kind enough to add the following quote, "'Tis I who others fear". I've since been able to add Steve Miner and Rob Paulsen. I just wish more of the cast did conventions so I could add to it.

Excellent video, youtube just recommended your channel today, so I had to sub. I am going to have to keep an eye out for lenticular covers, I have always loved the way they look. I have just recently started hunting for old dvds over the past few weeks. While it's really convenient having things arrive at the door, there is something special about hunting in the wild and finding things you didn't even know you needed.

I'm a graphic designer and obviously they didn't want to pay a designer the budget to produce better cover designs for Howling and Jaws Revenge. Early 2000s seem to have that in common from low budget production companies who invested more time producing copies and less focus on dvd cover designs.
@michaelowenzacchara49838 ай бұрын
Artisan Entertainment also released a Howling V/VI double feature dvd as well. That’s the release you need to find. The picture quality is also much better.

This whole video brings me back! This takes me back to 2008/2009 when I turned 19 and I was just getting out on my own and had a job and after bills I bought 3 movies a paycheck and I remember 3 particular ones. Otis, automation transfusion and Diary of the Dead. I wanna say they were all released on dvd by Dimension Extreme I could be wrong but wow great video and I agree but DVDs now while they are cheap and DVDs are a great format and I've said this on a previous video of yours it's the most universal media for home media. Thanks CHH For all the content you create!

Imprint is definitely not Miike's best work. I grabbed that DVD day it came out. I got the Dead or Alive trilogy by him coming from Arrow right now. I gotta thank you for getting me back into collecting physical media again. I started checking your channel out few months back more so for just commentary on horror movies but seeing all the cool stuff you pick up and the lack of special features for digital movies had me really missing buying movies. Keep up the great work.

If you've never seen Imprint, watch it immediately. As hard of a watch as it is, it's honestly my favorite episode of Masters of Horror. Takashi Miike just didn't give a f--- and he has my utmost respect. Truly disturbing and cringe-inducing.

I used to have that Howling IV/V double feature. Got rid of it when I found a Blu-ray with those two and part 3 oddly enough. A box set would be cool, I’m pretty sure part 7 was only put on dvd in Germany I believe.
