But don't worry, Mikaela prays and Steph is miraculously brought to life to tell everyone she saw hell." Steph: Fire... I saw fire. Forrest: "Or maybe it was a barbecue. She doesn't go into any more detail than that. Maybe she had a vision of food that wasn't mayonnaise and it freaked her out. These people don't seem to know what fun is, so it's hard to gauge what might have frightened her."

@sisterkerry Жыл бұрын
There was not suggestion of SA, especially when she was clearly wanting to seduce him. The replacing the jacket was meant to be a point, not a precursor to assault. @sisterkerry Жыл бұрын
@@user-lb8qx8yl8k Why? Because he doesn't want to have casual intercourse with her? Truly awful how women now see intimacy as just a recreational activity. This shows how degraded culture has made them regard their body. The woman is clearly behaving badly. She knows he is a devout Christian with moral values, yet she goes out of her way to corrupt them, and get one up on the whole God thing. It is also unfortunate that woman are incapable of accepting any personal responsibility. In all instances, men are at fault. If he is asking her to behave more modestly the main reason is within the Christian paradigm. He wants her to discover more self-respect. Women who dress immodestly are desperate to get a man, but they don't really understand how men are. Men are more visual than women and are naturally more sex*al. If women dress in an immodest way they are encouraging men to have relations with their bodies, but not to get to know them as people. Many women get very hurt because they don't realise that the man she has just used her immodesty to get into bed currently hates her, just as he hates himself for giving in to a woman he doesn't even like. Sometimes, it takes a shock to bring about change. A woman dressing immodestly, and behaving in an aggressively sex*al way getting actually called on it. And the man walking away from her, instead of taking advantage of her low self-worth. The shock of encountering decency, ethically and personally, could bring her to a happier life.

He shows up to a class with the express purpose of harassing the professor and interrupting student learning with his asinine half-baked rebuttals he thinks are so groundbreaking and clever despite being hilariously hypocritical. (So you shouldn't believe something just because it's in a textbook, but you *should* believe everything written in the Bible? Colleges telling you what to believe is bad, but Gramps telling you what to believe is good? Evolution causing biological processes to happen over the course of billions of years is laughable, but a cosmic being speaking them into existence isn't even up for debate?) He's always butting into people's lives and nagging and scolding them for not doing things exactly like he wants. He's absurdly obnoxious, and every conversation feels like a fantasy he wrote into the script where he gets to be the smartest person in the room at all times, he gets to win every argument, and everyone, even those mean old atheists, are forced to be impressed. It's laughable and embarrassing. Frankly think it's hilarious that these movies are supposed to be "uplifting" or somehow a good reflection on Christian values, because if Christians are supposed to act like Gramps does, I can't imagine anyone wanting to be in the same room as them for any length of time.

As a Focus Puller in the film industry, 2 minutes into this I’m losing my shit over the 2-shot that’s completely out of focus let alone how bad this script and acting is 🤣🤣🤣🤣 TRASHHHH

You can tell Steph is still a new Christian because she says “darn it” but you can tell she’s doing better.

Saying darn it as a Christian isn't bad there are worse things out there , Luke Christian getting involved in going out to save babies at abortion clinics

Pastor Ty, I need advice. I decided not to go to college bc I didn’t want to be brainwashed. But the factory I worked at was closed and reopened with AI and cheaper laborers in Mexico. Is there a way I can send food stamps to my church so my pastor won’t stop praying for me? Maybe I’ll stop supporting my daughter to afford tithing. Like the the Christian father you portray in this inspirational film. That choice wasn’t a subconscious admission of your views on religious patriarchy was it?

Just out of curiosity lads, what if the repressive theocracy ye lot so obviously want happens, but it's a different flavour of religion setting the rules? What'll ye do when ye actually face repression?

Brilliant film - satirises the fundamental Christian crazies and shows how silly they are. The writer is either knowingly mocking people who don't accept evolution, or is so ignorant of science and College education that he should be embarrassed.

It's not a one size fits all but I know a lot of Catholic Priests that enjoy a good beer within the realms of moderation. Few Protestant elders too.

That is such a strawman. If there are any real-world examples of a biology professor challenging Christianity, I would like to know them. I went to a Christian university that did have a biology department. You probably can't be accredited if you don't teach evolution. It also had required core classes of weird religion primer and fitting science and religion together. Of course, it bounced off me as I was still YEC at the time.
