Christina loved Whitney so much & Whitney personally told The Bet Awards when honoring Whitney that ONLY Christina can cover her version of "Run To You". That said. She did a pretty awesome job but lacks that sweet loving inflections & rifts that Whitney cooed.But i think Christina was definitely implying that this song soothes the tragic death with saying "I KNOW SHE'S AN ANGEL IN HEAVEN. SHE LOVED THE LORD Y'ALL!

JC JB Maybe your just not an Xtina fan? If you know Christina you know how she sings, this is very tame and in control. Of course it sounds different from Whitney or whoever the original singer, she sings the song the way she sings. If everyone sang the same way it would be quite boring. And I must completely disagree that it sounds “rushed”, she could have spent more time with it but def not rushed

I love this song and I love Christina, but it really just sounds like someone trying to oversing the Whitney version, not like someone who is feeling the lyrics. I believed Whitney when she sang it, I don't believe or feel Christina.

I disagree, she sings this very emotive (as she does with all her songs to be honest). But maybe it's the nerves because it's the first few nights still. It was the same with her previous tour, she got better with time as she feels more at ease.

i disagree... if you had heard what she had to say before she sang... this was the VERY FIRST song she sang at an audition... she was put on the spot.. and at the time she was a young girl obsessed with Whitney Houston and the Preacher's Wife Soundtrack...and this was also the first time she had EVER sang it for anyone besides herself and for the one person she auditioned for... just some perspective

@@TheJonb007 and she probably sang it better for Ron. Just like the At Last she sang at the piano on Genie Gets Her Wish was night and day compared to the version she did on Men Strike Back. Whitney had already overdid the song, but with emotion. Christina is just trying to hold notes longer and do unnessary runs to what Whitney already added, the melody is lost the extra notes are not needed and the emotion is lost. You don't get the feeling that she loves the Lord, you get the feeling that she loves vocal gymnastics and hollering. At least when she over sang At Last it sounded good. This is more reminiscence of her catching the Holy Ghost at the end of O Holy Night which sound more like imitating and playing, not real or emotional, just heard Mariah do it on Jesus Oh What a Wonderful Child so I'll give it a try. It's the same hear but worse. When Whitney sang this song she enhanced the vocal arrangement but brought an emotional connection to the song. You believed she loved the Lord and found solace in Him. Christina is here for the vocals there is no emotional connection to the actual song and if her connection to it is an audition, that says it all. This song is about God turning your mourning into dancing and Christina doesn't convey that. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't even hear the lyrics over her hollering. This is not gospel or a good rendition.
