Prof. Fair is a really good scholar, a very erudite treatment of the subject. I really admire her.

Hilaal Ahmed is a cheeky guy. He spins everything into Hindutva and does not address the threats posed by Islamists.

@Ruemann How? Do you know Indian Muslims are still staying in India even after partition?

@@aviramvijh Nationality is irrelevant to followers/supporters of Islamic fundamentalists. It best suits their anti India interests to have such 'cancerous elements' embedded deeply within the pseudo secularist intellectual community, inside of India. Such elements conveniently spin subtle anti India sentiments/views in such gatherings. It's a pre-planned script, if you observed his disinterest, while Christine Fair was speaking. Unfortunately for India, "Barking" Dutt panders to such vested interest groups by putting up a charade of a being moderate/secularist/pro indian muslim...

The amount of nuance and detail brought in by Smt. Fair is lost on at least a couple of panelists. You can literally see them restlessly scratching their hair and fondling their faces as she speaks. Kudos to the American academic for shining light on what is actually going on.

Can't believe that this video is not as widespread. This is such a formidable panel, it's delightful to see people with such passion for their work. It's a different thing to agree or disagree with some folks, but it's absolutely wonderful to see experts of different fields coming together to explain us the geopolitical relations of the world around in such eloquent, meaningful and simplified manner. Thank you so much ThePrint.

gosh khilal ahmed needs to be given special consolation award for patiently sitting there and not turning to his left and punch christine shouting 'Allah hu akbar'. He is so in disagreement that the inner muslim in him is rotating faster than any fidget spinner out there. He is so worried that the smart americans are teaching the indians all the tricks that only muslims knew of how to fool the 'poor, dirty and stupid' hindus for 1000 years. He made a meek attempt to draw equivalance between LET and ISI to hindutva there by suggesting Indians and bjp is just as bad so its all justified but he is so shit . scared of Christine fair that after saying that his body language is that of a meek mouse trying to convince christine that he did not try to steal the cheese.

@Felicity Ribeiro well yes. There are negative impacts of every religious extremism on every society. But there is difference between extremism and terrorism. For example many maulanas are extremist but they are not terrorist. Same goes for RSS, VHP etc. And this extremism is as evident in Muslims societies as well. Celebrating auranzebs and Bakhtiyar Khilji, ghuri, aibak etc is just as regressive and extremist as RSS idolizing godse. And muslims even justify this extremism as their rights as minority. This extremism has drawn hindus to get closer to RSS. Things like shaha Bano case, rejection of uniform civil code, always trying to show difference of identities etc are prime examples of this

@Felicity Ribeiro Sure...please do get in touch with me. Perhaps I can guide you in the right direction. From your comments, I can already see that you are nothing but a pseudo-intellectual, ill-informed opportunist. I shudder at the thought that people like you are actually pursuing doctoral research in a subject area on which you already have a pre-formed bias. Your own comments betray that bias! How could you even begin to do diligent reasearch on a topic when you are already starting out from a non-neutral, biased viewpoint? Which University is this PhD from? What is the source of funding for your research? Simply put, your thesis topic itself is based on a fallacious narrative. The "negative image" has been constructed and perpetuated by the western media and supported from within by the pseudo-sickular intellectuals and journalists in India like the moderator - Barkha Dutt in this forum. From the very start, they have branded BJP as a Hindu fundamentalist/nationalist party even when this same party has effectively won majority twice from the largest democratic electorate in the world through a fair process. Do they call the the Tories in Britain as the british fundamentalist party? What hypocrisy? You need to understand the context first. After decades of intellectual dishonesty & subterfuge by the marxist academia in India that deliberately glossed over the centuries of rape, plunder and Hindu genocide by the muslim invaders, people are simply waking up to the truth. BJP and RSS have simply known that truth far longer than most common people in India!! Believe me, you haven't seen Hindu extremism yet.....but the patience is wearing thin.

@Felicity Ribeiro Stop acting all sanctimonious as some kind of intelluctual. You doing 'Phd on hindu fundamentalism and extremists' ? hahaha you must be the top of your class in some cairo madrasa or tehran where you had to choose between 'how paint dries faster if you stare at it' and 'Hindu fundamentalism' ? Go do something with you life instead of some bullshit fiction. I am sure it will be a super thin Phd Dissetation full of lies and BS.

What happened to the old kings of Kashmir and what happened to the ancient wisdom that were there ? Indians need to fight for their heritage and not just for territory. Kashmir - the land of Panini , the forerunner in Indian philosophy and grammar and the hosts of ancient karakota dynasty has gone down.

Hillary Clinton said, "You can't raise snakes in your backyard and expect that they will only bite your neighbours." I tried to convince my American friends way back in 2001 when Bush launched his war against terror and made Pakistan its frontline ally in the war against terror and declared that Pakistan was the most important non- NATO ally, that it's foolish to expect that s state that uses Islamic terrorism as an instrument of its foreign policy will not turn against you at some point. I told my American friends in 1979 that just like Iran became anti-American, Pakistan too would become a possible problem for the U.S. I didn't know when but was sure that it would. My reasoning was that the U.S. and Pakistan were as diametrically opposite as two countries can be.
