This was the most useful instruction I have ever had from a video, or even a workshop. The reflection strategies were amazing. I am a dabbling watercolorist and pastelist. If I could afford it I would buy it. Thank you Christine!

Thanks for that laundry analogy, it is a very useful and practical explanation for color mixing... very neat perspective.

This is one of the more interesting videos. I find it very helpful and it covers a lot of things I never thought of that pertain to my art.

Christine, do we actually see you painting the "on location" watercolors? I'm referring to the watercolors in the field.

I think the team decided to show the intro parts and warm-up exercises to get people interest in what I have to teach to those who might be interest in owning the video - the video is new and just released yesterday. If you watch this trailer further they show the time lapse of the long demo. This free segment is 2 hrs. The video is over 6 hours. Thanks for watching.

I’ve been watching all the trailers! Most of the artists have covered these stages, and also a taster of their oil painting! And it does say ‘Oil Lesson Viewing’! I wouldn’t buy this video on the strength of this taster, whereas there are many that I would. 🤷♀️

Christine Lashley I am very interested in painting reflections in oil. Are your sketches only in watercolour ? Moreover , if the video is 6 hrs long, how much is allotted to oil painting? Thanks!
@CLashley88y4 жыл бұрын
@@mona2242 Hi the sketches are in watercolor because it's a quick way to visually explore the technical concepts of water reflections and break down the image into what I want for the painting. I find this more useful to my work and for students learning vs just 'a preliminary thumbnail sketch'. It's also clarifying the intent for the oil painting so I can then be intuitive, loose and painterly. The oil painting demo is about 3 hours and every brush mark is captured with color mixed on the palette. I talk about concepts and technique while I create it. There is an outdoor bonus 'finding a scene plein air' segment of about 15-20 min. which includes what to look for regarding water reflections and composition for a forest stream painting (you can see the final art I did in the album of works). If you email Lilliedahl they can tell you exactly how long the oil demo is.

Christine Lashley thank you for your reply. Just one more question. Are you using water based oils here? The reason I’m asking is that we see you spray the canvas with water. I’m extremely interested in this video.
