I don’t think it was the hotdog, I managed gas stations for 5 yrs and the hotdogs could be rolling on that thing till they turned into dehydrated pepperoni sticks n people would still buy them and I’d never heard of anyone get sick from them🤷🏼‍♀️ I think it might’ve been cream cheese taquito, anything dairy not kept at the right temp for very long is gonna cause you some “issues” 😅

Thick chicken soup that did not feel very hot?!? I would say that was the culprit! Nothing like keeping chicken soup just warm enough to be a germ breeding ground. Breakfast sandwich with crazy old egg is the second contender.

6:32 The reason KwikTrips are called KwikStars in Iowa, Illinois, etc. is because there is a separate chain of convenience stores called QuikTrips that originated in Tulsa, Oklahoma; because of this, KwikTrips are instead named KwikStars in any state they expand into that already had a QuikTrip in it.

So I know they don't have any out in your neck of the woods, but if you are ever in the western states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming) I highly suggest Maverik gas station. They're always clean and nice and actually have really nice hot food options. They also have a little grill menu (called the "Bonfire Grill) where they make you the item fresh.

We don’t have “Kwik Trip” but we have Quick Trip (I wonder if they’re related?), and they seem similar- it’s the big, “fancy” gas station around here. But I refuse to eat food from there. My husband has a stomach of steel and he will eat 2 of their taquitos and get bubble guts 🙊 anyway.. all this to say.. we appreciate your sacrifice 🫡. Because dang, this video was HILARIOUS! I worked at Kwik Trip for 6+ years, so this was cool to see you talking about it. It’s not JUST a gas station though. They’re always the cleanest safest gas stations that are in the area (I live in Minnesota). I worked in the kitchen for most of my time there and everything comes to us frozen, daily and we just thawed it and threw it in the oven. It’s been a few years so things might have changed but we would use a label gun thing to mark the hot spot food with the time it expires (only good for a couple hours at most usually). The soup sits out for hours but we’re supposed to be checking the temp often. I would never eat the hot dogs/brats off of the roller grill. They sit out there for a while and too open to people and germs. The store I worked at was pretty busy so food in the hot spot didn’t last long before you were making fresh stuff. And I can testify that the expired food was marked down and tossed in the garbage. We did a lot to minimize waste though, timing for the rushes and such. We had year end meetings with the Zietlow family and everyone I met was very nice and we got a profit sharing check. I was over it by the time I left, but I still think it’s a pretty great company.

Just had to put my 2 hot case foods cents in... I love it!! Grew up eating it and still do from time to time. Love a good pizza stick or pocket, crispitos, jalapeño poppers, maybe some jalapeño cheddar tater bites, jojos, mini burritos, the list could go on!! The main gas station in the small town I grew up in was locally owned and also did breakfast foods in the am, and the biscuits and gravy were bomb!! Had to get there super early before they sold out... Sorry you had a bad experience with it, but maybe try again (at a different gas station, obviously😳) someday, when you've moved past some of the trauma of the food poisoning. Glad you are feeling better!!💕

If you ever come to the south we are known for our hot gas station food!! Fried food, barbecue, deli, etc. People go to the gas station specifically for the food down here! Louisiana and Mississippi do it best!
