when Jordan B Petersen said that he would not be so aggressive in his temper anymore "Cus he got told people could take offense" is when you know they've sold out. Everything he says, all his foundation is built on offense, offense to the corrupt bullies running this world. Or when Joe Rogan said "no more commercials" - but every episode was sponsored by... yeah u get my drift... well, huge companies researching and promoting monsanto and other psycactive substanses. And all the sudden a lot of programs he just talked and promoted them and eat mushroom on cast etc. Well.. guess what i just wanted to say was: "happy to see you got totally blind from wearing two masks or just simply from peer pressure"! Overly happy people wanting to sell you something sounding to good to be true.. or just shit and its 10x price and title and description spell'd badly.. usually same. or people "restore X" w/ rust on plastic components, or same criminal ring abusing animals for their "rescue vids".

I too used them for decades even in business. But today if you check them out deeper you'll find they have quite a few failures when customers in a lurch are trying to recover data. They've taken on the antivirus as their main product I think and backup has become secondary. I've switched over to Macrium Reflect and have done quite a few backup and recover scenarios to make sure it worked and so far seems to be pretty solid and get this it's FREE.

I honestly must say not a big fan of subscription model, it seams that everything this days is that model. Look what happened with Adobe CS subscription when Pantone decided to invalidate the licence with Adobe, all the creators lost access to colors on their designs, not sure if it got resolved. And what happens if Acronis decides to close shop?
@ChrisTitusTech

The only way to prevent this is to use open source software. That way you won't be at the mercy of any company. Housing your own data and not relying on the cloud is obviously a given as well if you want to be completely independent. That said, it is only backups so you can easily dump it and move on. When implementing proprietary software in your day to day workflow, that becomes a lot harder to replace.

I don't know... Veeam never disappointed me and allowed me to stay local with my data. I backup my data to my own local Veeam backup repository hosted on my tiny little homeserver with a encrypted 6 TB HDD plugged in it and replicate the backups to the HDD, so that I have it twice. The bootable Veeam Recovery Media can be created very easy and fast and you can also create an .iso-image for example Ventoy. With that said the Recovery Media does also a very good and solid job on the recovery-side. The only plus point here for Acronis is their Cloud backup & recovery solution.

What it is funny about this review is how cool the System Clean Up is because it's sponsored by Acronis, but then when talking about CCleaner and similars is suggesting not to use it because it's worthless. Careful with the hypocrisy, because someday it might come bite us in the butt. At least you acknowledge that CCleaner has good features. We can use all the system cleaners we want, just with knowledge. I use CCleaner free and it cleans the same as Bleachbit. Bottom line: If we are going to not recommend something and then we have a similar feature in other program and it's cool. Double standards are always bad.

I understand that Chris and his family got to eat, so I am not against him doing a sponsor deal, but not mentioning famous 1-2-3 rule of backing up or importance of prioritizing local backup anywhere in the video does not look too good.

@ChrisTitusTech, I can't help feeling disappointed and disillusioned by this video. Coming from a leader in the fight to debloat Windows and who so often touts OSS and complains about subscription-based licensing, this infomercial for Acronis seems wildly out-of-character. I, too, used Acronis in the past. I see five Acronis True Image boxes on my software shelf, and know I've bought more than that for my own use. I've recommended and installed Acronis for friends, family and clients. But I haven't bought a single license since Acronis went to a subscription model. Backup is not the type of product I feel you should rent, unless you're going cloud-based, in which case there are more affordable options than Acronis. I also don't appreciate Acronis forcing customers to install their anti-malware product. I use and recommend other anti-malware products that I feel are superior. I don't want redundant services consuming system resources and potentially conflicting with my preferred anti-malware solution.

I watch a lot of your videos but, have to speak out against this one. First and foremost, cloud back up services are just as susceptible to ransomeware attacks as any online storage. All of the largest providers have been hit because of users staying logged into the cloud and also because of the residual software like what Acronis uses. If you want to do a full image backup, do it once and keep it local and offline, and then use a NAS, SAN or DAS, using rsync or xcopy with the arguments /d/e/c/r/y. You do not have to pay for some unnecessary cloud service that could hold your data hostage. Next you are doing virtualized clients and those are easily backed up to localized SAN/NAS or DAS. Just disconnect the localized storage media, creating an airgap defense from ransomeware.
