Christkindlmarket 2023 in Chicago! Our First Time at this AMAZING Holiday Market!

We've always wanted to visit the Christkindlmarket in Chicago during the holidays, and we finally got the chance! We visited the downtown location on a Sunday evening and even with the crowds we had SUCH a good time! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was joyful, the shops had the most beautiful items, and we would absolutely go back! Heck, we would go back just to get the gluhwine! Ha!

I married a German who always says "Germans do Christmas the best" .... 10 years later I kinda have to agree. You can get that Gluhwein at World Market, Trader Joes, or Aldi! I think you guys need to take a trip next year to the Christmas Markets in Germany!!

Chicago is a different kind of cold. Sherri, who grew up in the Midwest, has always said she finds Midwest cold much worse than Alaska cold, and she is right. Maybe it’s the humidity? In the Midwest the cold is biting. It cuts through whatever layers you have. In Alaska you can layer up and keep the cold out. In Chicago it just cuts through and chills to the bone

Oh, my goodness... My husband and I visited this beautiful Market the first time we went to Chicago to see Hamilton in 2018. (I still have my gluhwein mug and use it every year!) Your video brought back some wonderful memories -- thank you!!!

I love the Christkindl Market! My husband and I have made it a tradition ever since moving to the Chicaoland area. We went last week, and may be going again, because we didn't have a lot of time before they closed. Since my husband is German, we have purchased a couple clocks from there. And we always go in the ornament shops - they have such unique ornaments.

They have one of those markets in Grand Rapids Michigan and they have individual little buildings for each vendor from what I can tell. Looks like so much fun!
