Christkindlmarkt festivities begin

The Cullman Christkindlmarkt officially opened Thursday. Local elected officials and park board members braved the brisk weather for a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday morning, kicking off what they hope will be another successful year. Later that evening, the festivities continued with the lighting of the German Christmas pyramid.
