Just watched this. Such a nice family. Everyone looked so happy & loved their gifts. The dance at the end just topped it off! 🎄Thanks for sharing!

I loved this video. TY for posting. I have to laugh though, when I saw them tossing the football around in the living room I was reminded of the Brady Bunch episode where the boys tossed the football in the house and broke the vase. LOL. I was 5 in 1963 and this brought back a lot of memories.

Bet his bedroom wall had holes all around the dartboard. I love watching these.
@matrox2 жыл бұрын
Yep...we had a dart board we got probably around this same xmas. Ours was in the basement mounted on a knotty pine paneled door. And yes the door had dart holes all in it. The good thing is since it was knotty pine you could not see the holes unless close up. The people we sold the house too never noticed it.☝😁

I like them. Maybe the now- grown kids will see this on You Tube. If they do, I love your family.

What a wonderful film. Noticed how everyone was joyous with their Christmas gifts and presents. They must have cost a small fortune in those days though. 😀❤😀

In today's money, a television set like theirs would've cost some $3,000 or more. Gasoline was $0.33 cents or so, which is on par with what it costs in today's money also (pre-Brandon era). But, cars of that era used far more of it! MPG ratings were horrible!

It's sad to know this footage was found at a thrift store. Something must have happened within the family.

Those kids are well into their 70s now. The parents are probably gone. Seems like yesterday.

It's real. Who would go to all the trouble of getting all the vintage stuff ready. Besides what would be the motive ?.

The mom and dad remind me a lot of the Hollywood couple Barbara Hale and Bill Williams. She of course played Della Street on Perry Mason, and he was a popular character actor. It's uncanny how much they look alike.

✌️🇺🇸 The death of JFK ....Still makes me sad to think about it ....I was 16 yrs old at that time. Sorry but i think your comment was in very poor taste.😔

Exactly man! And to think that people like these could find it in their hearts to be joyous for Christmas right after Kennedy was gunned down! But then the arrival of the Beatles seemed to soothe every one from the blow and gave the world something of a cheering up to help us move on!

Far be it from me, but I think this is a fake. Length dwelt on subjects, mouthing to camera as if they have a familiarity with being seen on camera, quality of teeth, and the perfection of the last shot. I could be wrong. Have we found these people?
@Vintagetvs11 жыл бұрын
I can assure you it's real, I have the reel of film. As for the teeth, well they had good dentists in 63 and Fluoridated water. These people would have been familiar with being on camera since they had home movies.

Kev Sutherland There are thousands of old home movies on KZbin, and I find them poignant. Many of these people have passed on, but their memory lives on.
@JustMe-vo9bq3 жыл бұрын
Kev Sutherland,.... I don’t know what Planet you’re from, but your take on this film is unbelievably laughable! I was about the same age as the young girl, well as my brother to this boy and so we’re my parents during Christmas 1963! My father took movies of us from when we were very very young and the quality of the filming as well as Our Family, and how we looked, was EXACTLY just as you see here! Nothing Fake!
@miketype1each2 жыл бұрын
My heavens, how in the name of all that's holy did you arrive that this film is a forgery? It may be due to how free those people appear. Yes, it was that free then. Yes, ash trays were put on stands and situated next to chairs. Yes, braided rugs were all the rage. It was a completely different time then, and 100% real. You're looking at what was destroyed.
