Where do you like to go for Christmas Afternoon Tea? Have you had the Holiday Tea at the Dallas Arboretum? Let me know in the comments below!

@sonyavs455 Not so much of an afternoon tea, but I did go to a Thai restaurant last night. The Pandan Pancakes (filled with custard) and Ice Cream would be perfect as a dessert for afternoon tea. (Pandan is a green leaf from Thailand that has a vanilla type flavour).

I love Christmas tea at the arboretum! It’s so festive and fun. The food is never really that great but the atmosphere more than makes up for it. Great video! Thanks for sharing:)

My son and daughter in law saw that when they went to grapevine last week and said it was amazing , I saw the pics of it lit up at night , I think I want to go next year , and I definitely want to have tea ❤from Helotes

I have been twice to the Arboretum for Afternoon Tea, but never at Christmas time. I was impressed by the massive quantity of Spode Christmas Tree china!!

Agree completely about the clotted cream and jam. And here in the states, the scones are definitely made with too much sugar. It only takes a little, and then the jam can stand out! Went to the Arboretum this year, too, and also highly recommend going!❤ Great video!

Great video! I have to laugh when someone calls the DFW area "North Texas." I have family who live in Euless and they never call Dallas north Texas. Our maternal family settled that area MANY generations ago (Parish and Riddle families.) I live in Amarillo and am the first generation to be born up here. THIS is North Texas. We are often a forgotten part of Texas. Being the top 26 counties and called "The Texas Panhandle," one would think everyone would remember this. We are visited by many from Europe. My son is a manager at the Hilton Embassy in downtown Amarillo and regularly book people from all over the world. Give a nod to the true North Texas please!

Same here. We lived in Perryton and thought it was comical to hear DFW called N TX. Now we are S of Fort Worth.

It's in the 40's and it's chilly? That is so funny! Right now in New York State it's 37 and CNY folks are all over Facebook saying how beautiful and Spring-like today is.😅

@sonyavs455 Good point! Idea for '25: Clotted Cream Road trip. 😃 You visit every city you have viewers in. WE 🤗 take you to tea. You make a study of which tea served the best/most cream. And, the winner can be awarded the title of "Cream of the Clot" 🤔 (instead of "crop"). 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This was a really excellent video, and your forthrightness is refreshing! For good business purposes, an establishment should have proper and knowledgeable assessments, not just the puffery one gets in advertising, and how can one correct a situation if it is not made apparent? Good going!

I loved the tea excursion this week and it was festive indeed! I have tea at home since I have dairy and gluten intolerance. There are some tea shops that serve dairy/gluten free but I prefer to make my own treats. Has anyone ever tried the alternative tea items, are they good?

@@DScott-uq4qy I always appreciate it when tea salons and shops make an effort to accommodate food allergies and issues. Bit it is a challenge sometimes, to find them!

The Dallas Arboretum looked to be worth a visit. I love old fashioned automatons. I've never heard of chestnut soup. I'm not a big fan of chestnuts. I think they're best left in the song. The service looked to be excellent, although I did find it odd when he said 'We are going to have'. I thought the plate designs were perfect for the occasion. The food? Not for me, apart from the desserts which looked good. I don't suppose there are many places in Texas that cater for vegetarians? I was watching Chef Vic Cuisine's recipe for thumbprint cookies just three days ago. Never heard of them before and now two mentions in a week. 😂 Lastly, I complement you on your outfit. Very festive. 🎄🎄🎄 Happy New Year!! 🥳🎉

All the details are in the description box. It depends on when you go and where you sit! Ha! But count on anywhere from $62-$65 on a regular day. $65-$72 during the holidays.

Thanks for the video, I'd say their spring/fall tea is better. Disappointing christmas tea didn't match my experience from Spring/fall teas at Arboretum. It seems they over reach and reduce quality and portion sizes for christmas tea. The tableware is beautiful

Lashings of clotted cream; this is the way :) In Australia, despite being a commonwealth country & a good 25% of the population one generation removed from the UK or Ireland, it's really common to be served whipped cream or Chantilly w/ scones, & its a shame.
@sonyavs4553 күн бұрын
@@OSheaDean yes, that happens here, too. And I agree, it is a shame!

Tea is really overrated and underwhelming. I don’t go to any they just become so expensive and not what I expected. I have gone to task and do my own. You can get great loose tea. Scones easy to do. Go to your local bakery and get the dessert. 🍮. Like petit fours. Great choices at bakeries. 🧁. For example here in Canada 🇨🇦. I attended a Christmas tea. At 70 per person. It was very disappointing. Two tea sandwiches. In the tier. We had a cup of soup. And various canapés. Just ridiculous. I enjoy doing my own. Tea 🫖. I do love the dishes would love to have them. ❤
