I don’t know your language but I hope you understand English, it’s less likely you’ll understand Italian. But merry Christmas, happy new year to you friend

You did not sprinkle the cocoa on the edge! That is your signature move! The video feels incomplete without that moment! :( But you did an amazing copy of the cake!! Looks delicious!!

Yeah I noticed that too. Hopefully it's back next episode.

The purpose of this video was to compare the two cakes; if he added cocoa powder, the tasting of both cakes would be ruined

Always wondered why those Godiva stuff were so incredibly expensive. Now I can see why, it's such a pain to make, still, I wouldn't buy it but I can definitely see the reason for it's cost now.
@BornRemaining3 жыл бұрын
Godiva used to make good product, but I think they got bought out and started slacking off between 10 and 20 years ago. I don't know if that's just here in America or what, but the chocolates from Costco that cost a little fraction are way higher quality now.
@boodledemic64303 жыл бұрын
I used to work for Godiva and I loved the quality of our little boutique. It was overpriced, yes, but the chocolate was fantastic. This year they shut down all their stores because the pandemic hurt sales :/ now they’re only online, or sell their products to various other retailers

They're not. They're cheap and nasty chocolates for tourists.

Congratulations, i always believe if we are inspired by someone else’s recipe then we have the right to give our own interpretation to create a new identity. That’s what makes a great chef. Push those boundaries!

Exactly! I believe that's how all desserts came to exist. I believe they all evolved from a single dessert, probably something simple like fruit and honey and from that single dessert all dessert life on Earth came to be.
Me : beautiful, super awesome you are. Cake : thank you for watching, welcome to Japan to eat different cakes. 🙏.

This cake is named "Royal" in france, it is the best seller of every bakeries I would say. The only difference is there is no ganache between pailleté feuilletine and chocolate mousse. But I guess the taste must be very similar.

Always a joy to watch! You refer to the crunchy part as "blistered" - but I couldn't figure out what you meant by that (poor translation I will bet). I would probably use cornflakes or ground nuts for this part.
@maddoxxie3 жыл бұрын
the correct way of doing this is to use french crepes, and the dry them in the oven until they become brittle and crunchy. cant wait to try this recipe
@crystalbarnes48763 жыл бұрын
In the Japanese captions, the word he used was ふやける, which means "to become sodden; to swell with liquid," so machine translate probably used the latter and colloquialized it
@Humblerbumble2 жыл бұрын
I assume he meant "soggy", since the ganache has a higher fluid content with the cream
