My daughter's beagles got an electric blanket and other fluffy ones, and I sent a pound of chicken jerky. Their Christmas was calm and cozy. My kitties got chicken treats from my daughter. Everyone's happy. 🐶😻

Merry Christmas from my cat family to your cat families 🐈🌲 This was so much fun! We had a whole village of those cardboard Christmas houses too. I loved your shopping stories. Reminded me of, years ago, when Tickle Me Elmo came out. My nephew wanted one so bad, but my sister-in-law could not find one anywhere. Target announced they were getting a shipment of them and putting them on sale. I was in line at Target at 3 a.m. to get one. It was a madhouse. I was one of the last few people to get one. I will never forget the look on my nephew's face when he opened it. Pure joy! Thanks again for the great stories ❤

My 95 yr old Mom has the whole nativity set, including 2 angels, in those big plastic forms that have a light inside, like your plastic snowman! Every year, my brother sets it up, and it's out in her yard lit up as we speak! I have no idea how old they are! 😊 Happy memories! 🥰

What a fun time you two have given me! Thank you so much, David and Gary. I'm alone, but you brought back some fun memories for me. I especially loved the Christmas lizard. Awesome. Isn't funny how so much of our memories circle around food. My mom used to make these amazing cheddar cheese cookies with a touch of cayenne pepper. She had to hide them every year just to get them to survive for Christmas day. It was one of the things she could cook ahead of time, but my three brothers and I were sharks looking for them. Forget the hidden gifts, find the cookies and the nuts and bolts! Heehee. So fun, so delicious. My Dad only shopped for presents on Christmas Eve, so we got some really weird things for mom, sometimes, because of whatever was left back in the day. The most used thing was a vacuum cleaner. The fanciest thing was a massive Magnovox Entertainment center with a colorcTV. Heehee. I'm sitting beside it right now. Have a joyful day, everyone. Love and hugs and blessings for us all. Joy

Bon Noel!today I am 59. 🤶🤶🤶🤶. Christmas and Hannukah happened in the same day when I was born too. The Peanuts programs were the rare exception to our limited tv viewing. It was like being let out of a cage. My dad was a jazz man, so he loved the music to the Peanutstv shows. When it was available, We got the Peanuts Music cd for him. He loved it.

It was like spending time with my three brothers tonight. They all live in the bay area -- I'm in New England. The childhood memories came flooding back -- from the bad jelly beans to the raisins in the chocolate chip cookies, to the Charlie in the Box, to the standing outside at 4am to get into a store to buy a ten dollar iron (back when people actually ironed their clothes) -- all of it. I refuse to subscribe to AppleTV just so I can watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas". That was one Christmas tradition that I always looked forward to seeing. Christmas Eve, sometimes Christmas Day morning (if on a Sunday), we were performing. Late November to January 1st is one of the busiest times for singers and musicians. We started rehearsals in October twice a week, then on Saturdays leading up to the Advent, Christmas season. We got 2-3 weeks off between week after Christmas and first ten days of January. It was so wonderful not to have extra rehearsals for choir school. I grew up in a congregation with 4-5 singing choirs olds choir school, 3-4 bell choirs, a full on brass ensemble, an orchestra(Messiah, Mozart and Bach Masses), and…3 dance choirs, a full on liturgical arts program, musical theatre twice a season. I have had the honor of singing the complete Messiah, and playing in the orchestra. I am the only family member to do so. Sometimes it pays to be a bassoonist! Gifts: our new daughter in law finally arrived from Peru Tuesday. She is married to our youngest son. My spouse is getting needed computer stuff. I’m getting a few things, but not too expensive. We’ve never, ever spent a lot for Christmas or Hannukah. TVs: I remember watching men walk on the moon on a black and white tv.

Hi Gary ( and Dave )! You two have caught me again… laughing along as you reminisce about Christmas time traditions, and shenanigans :0) But Gary, when you spoke of taking that extra moment to respond to folks who you’ve sensed needed a pick-me-up, that resonated big-time with me. I delivered mail for 30 years. Soon into that experience I noted that for some people I was the ONLY person they’d see or interact with in any given day. So I decided to make those moments, when they came along, as friendly as I could. Something as simple as wave.. or a smile… was easy enough to offer. Cuz we never know what people are walkin’ around with… or what troubles are on their plate… or who they miss in their life. And we can never be truly sure what impact a single gesture can have on a person who’s on the receiving end of a bit of kindness. Yes, I’ll admit that the grumpy grinchs tested my theory, but even for them I doubt my effort was wasted. Long way of saying… the spirit and joy that you and Dave offer, and the easiness with which we can sink into your videos to join into the fun, is much appreciated! Here’s to another 8 months ( and more, of course! ). Big Hug from Michigan! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours! 🎉

My sister’s father-in-law was also a postman, and he shared a very similar story with me 30 years ago about doing the same exact thing. @@GaryandDavidTwinTarot Hah hah! Another connection to add to the ‘we’re twins’ one! My grandpa delivered mail for 34 years in Wisconsin. He talked about actually STOPPING in at customer’s homes to share coffee, baked goods and stories with them. WHOAH! My letter carrier rounds did NOT include home visits! He also spoke of having to add Ski Runners to his postal vehicle in winter… and delivering live chickens and ducks. When I got hired in some people ‘poo-poohed’ me for ‘Why’d you wanna do THAT?’ It DID use to be a good job. These days it’s more about speed, scans, 24/7 work hours and delivering at night. My grandpa would roll to hear those current conditions! He lived in a time when folks KNEW each other. I got in there just as the change was moving from knowing your customers to watching the clock. So HEY! Did you remember to ‘treat’ your letter carrier???? Everyone should do this! Even just a jot of a note saying THANKYOU! That can help to lighten the spirits of a person doin’ a really tough job! Most expect the mail to BE there, or don’t use the service at all. But it takes PEOPLE to bring what you want/need to you. Remember them, yes? Thanks for your kindness, Gary! I’ve eaten up too much time here! Merry Christmas!

We had the same Christmas Village! My mother set it up in the "white" fireplace that my dad never allowed a fire in... strewn over a mat of cotton batting atop an unburned pile of logs so it had hills and valleys. She'd also put tiny skiers, kids, dogs, and sleds, all over the landscape. It was my favorite thing, tucked away in the formal living room where it was quiet and forbidden-- I spent many hours there each year playing with my dolls in a full Christmas fantasy. It was wonderful and magical! Merry Christmas, everyone!

My Christmas's were on the beach, with a bunch of cousins, eating ham sandwiches and fruit cake, sharing the ocean waves with penguins. A New Zealand Christmas in traditional style. So have a very wonderful family filled day wherever you are.

Oh, my! My mom would set up a snowy village, and, yes, it WAS MAGICAL! There were little cardboard houses, with glittery white snowy roof tops, and colored cellophane windows; the white glittery church with a tall steeple, and a tiny brass bell; and little “snow tipped” evergreen trees with a mirror “frozen lake.” Stacked books, covered in a sheet of cotton (thin batting), created little hill scapes for the village houses, the church, and she also cut an organic shape in the cotton for the lake illusion (mirror beneath). Even a pair of deer. As a child of 2, 3, 4, etc…it was truly magical. My favorite. Thank you, Mom. ♥️❌⭕️ And, thank you, guys, for mentioning this! Merriment and Happiness to you and yours!

Merry Christmas Boys, I hadn't realized that this channel just started in May. I probably started watching in June. I remember that David was on vacation in Niagara Falls I believe. Came home with covid. And since then, every morning, you are what I drink my coffee, with whom I drink my coffee with. And, since you brought it up, the family tradition I remember most fondly, is that my dear sweet Mummy would cream puffs after we finished opening our presents she was a kiwi and her whipped cream was extraordinary, and she would put raspberry jam in as well, and we would eat cream puffs until Christmas dinner
