We don’t having Boxing Day in the U.S. since it’s a British tradition. When I first heard about Boxing Day for England, I thought it had something to do with people who box in a boxing ring! Lol.. since boxing was really big a long time ago, I’m not sure if it still is. I looked it up and it’s just about boxes, giving gifts in boxes. Lol. Good to know! So, in a way, the U.K. kind of has two gift giving holidays back to back. Our one big celebration day, besides Christmas and Easter, is our Independence Day, July 4th, but oddly enough, we say, 4th of July, and the rest of the year we don’t say the date first and the month second. Just 4th of July, which was to be independent from England. But some of us say, “Happy Independence Day”! “Happy 4th”! “Happy July 4th”, or just “Happy 4th of July”! And we don’t really give gifts, but we go to the park, the beach, a relatives or friends house to have a big bbq party, lots of food and drink that people bring, a pool party, and shoot off fireworks on the street in front of a house, or go to a local stadium to watch a big 4th of July celebration with music and marching bands and singing and then a huge firework show. The big cities around the U.S. by the ocean, they have a spectacular firework show. It’s a proud day in America. 😁
