My late mother, Bernie Octavia Lapps, from Johnson's Point, was so proud of her country Antigua and Barbuda 🇦🇬 wishing she could be there more often, but she sacrificed so much her family while living in Canada that she didn't return until her latter years. Some of the most beautiful driven people you'll meet.

Sadly as an Antiguan, I grew up being very insecure about being slim as I was teased for it. I didn't grow up on KFC and macaroni as they are accustomed to eating. Many young ladies who I've mentored and consider to be "thick" have stated that they were actively tried to gain weight.

As an Antiguan living in New York I was so fortunate to be Antigua three days before Christmas. Then I went to Rockefeller center a few nights ago. The same crowd, it's the same pandemic. So please leave my people alone let them enjoy themselves and celebrate
