@@davidwhite1864 Merry Christmas David. This engine is a blast from the past. I have a lot of this old G gauge stuff. I haven’t had a railroad upon which to run them since last century. I hope the new year brings blessings to you and your family.

@@mrowl-the-dsm1304 Hi Mr. Owl. This engine was the pride of the fleet many years ago. Between a stint as a single dad and other of life’s priorities, she has not been out of the box in over 20 years. Our track was designed to accommodate live steam engines. But it’s still fun to run these old sparkies. The sound was improved in the later clips because I replaced the rechargeable batteries. I turned the volume down because I don’t like it to sound like a full sized steam engine is in the yard. Different from when I was young.

@@KandWRailroader Thanks for the compliment. I made the rust by dissolving bits of steel wool in isopropyl alcohol.

@@northernutahlivesteam That's an interesting method, I've never heard of that. It's also interesting to learn that IPA can dissolve things! High school chemistry was a long, long time ago...

@ I guess it’s really making rust, not so much dissolving.

@@northernutahlivesteam Ah...that makes sense. But it must do so quickly...like overnight?

@ Not having brewed any in several years, seems it took a couple of weeks to get good and rusty. I do remember having about three batches going. Different ages give different shades of rust.
