It is a toss up between the truck sign, and the bottles for me! I keep a tin of plastic primer in with my craft supplies Cindy, and use it on glass, shiny metal, anything paint has a difficult time adhering to, works like a charm.

Where so you get Plastic Primer?

@@monarchmomdiy I apologize, it used to be called 'Plastic Primer' when I first started buying it several years ago at General Paint here in Canada. Now that Sherwin William's bought them out, it is called; 'Extreme Bond Primer', I can never remember that it switched over! It works very well on like I said slick surfaces that paint would either not adhere to, or would chip off quickly. I buy old pots etc to use as my flower pots outside, and I always coat them with Extreme Bond prior to painting. They are out in rain, stored covered but still out all winter, and some I have had for years. I actually redid our kitchen cabinets using Extreme Bond, rather than stripping old paint off. It dries quickly, and has next to no odor. The only drawback is that it can be pricey, but there is no crackling effect like with Mod Podge, and a little goes a long way!

Very nice tutorial. The truck addition was unexpected and brought a fun element to the sign, good idea. I would like to see the nativity sign and maybe you could pair it with a video of different ideas for nativity projects which would be so meaningful for holiday. 😊

The milk bottles will be perfect for one of my bookshelves in my classroom. The back of my shelf is covered with buffalo plaid wrapping paper. I don't have a saw to make the tray, but I do have a holly bush for greenery!

You could get paint sticks from Lowe's or Home Depot, cut them to size and use them to make the tray.

Cindy I loved them all. I enjoy going to dollar general also. Went to Arkansas, got some cute ornaments, bags with the little red truck. That’s the first thing I do when I go to another state, is to check out Dollar Tree Hobby Lobby, Dollar general. Thanks for the Christmas diy.

Love these DIYS. That's a great tip about using Mod Podge first. I've been trying to paint a glass bottle that I have, but it does have texture and words, but the paint rubs off, so I'm going to give that a try. Love the tray you made, that is so cute. That wood piece is beautiful.

Maybe helpful in the future but have you tryed wiping the bottles with rubbing alcohol,i did that an when i did milk bottles i didn't have trouble getting chalk paint to stick.

That ruck is a great addition to the placque. That truffle paint is a great color. Its a great accent. Mod podge is one of the alternative products to use instead of crackle medium. A lot cheaper
