Christmas greetings from Swedish Lapland

My name is Bernadette Olderdissen and I'm a freelance travel journalist and writer (www.bernadette-olderdissen.org). In January 2022 I moved to the village of Båtskärsnäs with 200 inhabitants in Swedish Lapland for a very special book project with the working title "Eight seasons - living in nature's rhythm", which the German publisher Malik published on Aug. 31st 2023 as "Between eternal summer and deepest night".
I wanted to experience the eight seasons of Lapland (according to the Sami calendar) and learn from this much wilder nature and the people living in it. About how to treat nature, but also lessons for life itself, wherever I am.
Almost 2 years later I'm living my life, both privately and professionally, between this Arctic village and Hamburg - two contrasts so huge like the everlasting summer and the everlasting night of Lapland.
