A Christmas tree is put up in the historic church of St Candida in Whitchurch Canonicorum in West Dorset by George Smith, who has sung in the choir at the church for more than 70 years. George has donated the tree as his contribution to Christmas celebrations at the church and in the village, which is in the Marshwood Vale. George's wife and grandaughter help carry the tree into the church through the entrance at the foot of the bell tower; his friend Ken Tubbs helps drill a hole into the trunk of the tree so that it can then be fixed into a stand and later decorated. "Pretty good," says Mr Tubbs as the two men survey their handiwork and George agrees: "Where he's to is good."
This is the first video put together for the Heritage Lottery backed project A Tale of Two Bell Towers, which covers bell ringing and restoration, church and village life in Whitchurch Canonicorum and Chideock.
