From the USA. First time I have been exposed to Norwegian Christmas traditions. It was very interesting. I'm Italian American and we also each dried cod fish which has been reconstituted on Christmas Eve. We call it Bacala.

merry christmas and happy new year. love your cat. so beautiful. everything looks good but no to lutefisk lol. here in the U.S. state of Minnesota lots of churches have lutefiske feeds. never could eat it. take care

@@Vikinggirl1679 Thank you, and Happy New Year to you as well! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Lutefisk is truly not for everyone; I was skeptical at first. It wasn’t bad, just a very unique taste - very different from other fish dishes. And importantly, it has to be served warm with the side dishes. Once a year at Christmas is enough to enjoy this dish. I don’t think I would have it often! 🙊 Take care you too, hope you’re around for the next one 🙏🏻

@@SeasonsOfHealing Our church offers Swedish meatballs for those who don't eat Lutefisk. It is a love or hate and saved with melted butter or a cream sauce.

I enjoyed until the cats on the food counter
@SeasonsOfHealing2 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for your feedback! I’m really glad you enjoyed most of it. 😄 As for the cats on the counter - I totally get it, I know not everyone is a fan of that! But I have to admit, my cat is my kitchen assistant, always ready to "help" (or just supervise). but I promise I keep it clean! Thanks for the reminder, though.

Nice video, except for the cat on the counter and all over the food, touching it and licking it; to me, that's a big no no! Besides that, it was very interesting to see how people in other parts of the world celebrate Christmas. Thanks for sharing!!!

Thanks for your comment! Cats are naturally very clean animals, and I always ensure hygiene when preparing food. Glad you enjoyed the video and the glimpse into our Christmas traditions! 😊

@@SeasonsOfHealingCats dig in litter to cover their poop. I would not want one near my food
@SeasonsOfHealing4 сағат бұрын
@ Fair point! I totally get your concern. I always see my cat cleaning herself, and I do clean her paws too for extra hygiene and check her litter box once a day that it's clean, so I don't mind having her around ☺️

Ribbe is absolutly not pork belly!
@SeasonsOfHealingКүн бұрын
You're absolutely right! Ribbe and pork belly are different cuts of meat from pork. I just saw some online recipes that referred to it as 'Norwegian Ribbe Pork Belly.' Thanks for pointing that out and making me aware of the difference. I appreciate it!
