Phil hid her shoes so she couldn’t run away from him. The lyrics “and leave this fucked up place behind, but i’ll know.” was referring to him saying he’ll know wherever she is if she leaves. He adopted 3 kids on Christmas Day to make her attached to where she wouldn’t run away. It’s quite sad honestly.
